To this day, Yolanda is still trying to ruin Selena's memory. She's talked about Selena wanting to divorce Chris, to cheating on him, that she was scared for her life because he found out Selena had cheated on him, and so much more. Yolanda is, if not, the most HATED person in the Hispanic community. Her obsession with Selena hurt so many people, but my heart breaks the most for Chris. It just makes me think that Selena was so sheltered & protected by her family that she didn’t know how to read people’s shadiness which you pretty much learn in high school. Her dad pulled her out in the 8th grade which is the most important years to develop those senses. She trusted everyone & thought everyone was good which is sadly not true in this world.
@HeatherLynseyMusic3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t ever thought of it in that way, that is really when you learn who to trust and who not based off their actions and not what they say. I don’t think anyone believed she was capable of going that far but her design partner, even he didn’t think she’d kill her. Just horrible 😭

Yolanda Saldivar was NOT a “huge fan” of Selena’s; in fact she HATED her, and was always saying how much she hated her and her music. She became *obsessed* with her, but if you know the entire story, you know that she was literally building shrines to Selena, in both of her homes, to the point of having entire rooms with walls covered with pictures and magazine cut outs, and even life-sized cardboard stand up cutouts of Selena. She was never a “fan”, but a crazed lunatic who was allowed to get too up close and personal, without ever having so much as a background check. She wanted to ruin Selena. She ultimately embezzled tens of thousands of dollars from Selena’s fan club and her boutiques. She murdered her because she was going to be cut out of the Selena empire, due to being found out.

I think I must have seen the movie 1000 times. Just loved Selena's music.. her spirit.. and her lasting impression on the world! It's still so sad but yet also kind of poetic that JLO who played Selena is actually fulfilling everything that Selena was suppose to have lived in her life!

@sh3rocks015 жыл бұрын
Ty Dune Well you can read some in the comments. Some say her father actually liked Chris but obviously we know even today they have problems. Some people say the movie is not accurate but the family has already explained what parts were real and what parts were fake. Several things I’m reading. Not saying anything is true or false but I’m just saying since it’s been years, people have come up with different stories now. So it’s kind of hard to tell who’s telling the truth and who’s lying (other than the woman who killed her because she has several stories made about Selena).

I think also see a persons character. Because not everyone who has a mental illness kills people. People who kill people call it a mental illness that apparently drive them to it. I agree there needs to be stricter laws enforced and some evaluations not only psychologically but at a persons character. Because you can be perfectly sane but be a shitty person and then kill someone. You know? So I totally agree.
