@@donnayoung9215 ...🌱🪴🌷Oh this is a long one: Did you consult your doctor before you went on the Carnivore Diet - yes or possibly not; and if you did he/she may not have approved - yet you could always stop this diet if it doesn’t work out, right; same goes with any supplement; should ‘you’ decide to discontinue iron supps. in the interim - make note of your well-being (do you feel better or worse either way, you could stop or go back on the full dosage or even a reduced dosage); in my opinion, your dosage is very high especially on the Carnivore Diet; look, doctors are not always on point - mine is not; also keep in mind, if you menstruate you have blood loss or if you have internal blood loss (or Both), Iron is important in your diet; also, your body may poorly absorb iron supplements and do better with meat, seafood, eggs; and just a suggestion, you could even ween your iron dosage if you feel weary; (I quit cold Turkey and never felt better - and even on the darn Iron supps, my Doc still labeled me as anaemic - guess am a poor absorber of iron supps.); on the other hand, too much iron (iron overload): zero blood loss, high iron supp. dosage, and Carnivore Diet should be a cause for concern for anyone; and as you may know, the downside - excess iron builds up in the body - is stored in the ‘liver’ and other places in the body - only way to get rid of the excess iron is via regular blood donation; we all have doctors but sometimes, like in my case, I have to be my own doctor; look, it’s your life - it’s your health, so you gotta do what’s best for you; take care.

If the backers and pushers of the vegan movement keep getting their way, their momentum will continue to snowball and sooner or later their agenda of eliminating meat consumption will start to become reality. In future decades it might just be possible that you’d need to get some sort of “permission” to acquire healthfully raised products from animals. If you can get any at all.

Make sure you have enough vitamin C and D. maybe even take a big dose of both to give things a kick. They're both safe at even 10x the RDA for a quick boost. Also make sure you're getting enough salt - the body uses the chloride to make stomach acid which you need to digest the iron. Good luck and all the best.

Sure would have been nice if all the doctors I saw during my iron deficiency anemia had explained this. My guess is they weren’t listening to me when I told them I was eating 3 pounds of ice daily. All the doctors advised me to take iron supplements and didn’t recommend iron found in foods. My primary doctor prescribed Prevacid for me which made my anemia worse and I gained 25 pounds while taking this drug. After having 10 sessions of iron infusions and dumping all my doctors, I discovered keto/IF on my own and lost 100 pounds improved my GERD and feel great. Thanks Dr. Berry for all your great information. You are saving and improving people’s lives. ❤️❤️❤️

I drink a lot of tea and wonder if that is sabotaging all my efforts. I crave ice so ever giving it up feels like a lost battle. It’s more like an addiction. I can stop. I don’t want to stop. Eat foods that make you poop regularly bc fibroids happen from toxic buildup in the bowels. Lose some weight if you’re overweight because we store estrogen in our fat. Make sure to eat organ meats like liver, heart, etc to build up iron and b vitamins lost through heavy bleeding. @@colinthomson5358 Well it was very gradual! It all started when I decided to chew on ice randomly after drinking a glass of cold water and I found it surprisingly satisfying so I just kept eating the ice every time I was served a beverage with it. After a few months I found myself craving ice alone and decided to eat it directly from my fridge ice machine, many times a day. I honestly didn't really question it but my cravings for ice were very intense, I'd imagine it would feel similar to crave a cigarette or any other addictive substances. I remember being so annoyed when other people weren't eating the ice in their drinks around me, I'd often ask my friends and family to give me their ice cubes cause I just needed more. Nothing else would satisfy me the way ice did, and I tried eating ice cream, sorbet, even snow lol. One question I have in watching this superb video concerns eggs: Is the iron in eggs in the white or the yolk or both. I have high cholesterol and rarely eat the yolk. Now let me say that hands down this is the most reliable, convincing, and science-based presentation about iron I have seen. He is an M.D. which I like. Dr. Ken tells us what kind we need to treat iron deficiency anemia. Where it is found. I learned that iron supplements are not the way to go. At least he does not indicate any such that are worthwhile. All the iron supplements I've encountered, including those from great companies like New Chapter and Garden of Life, are plant-based, that is, non-heme iron. Not what we need.
@Blossom2Fitness2 жыл бұрын

..but fortunately eating cholesterol doesn't actually raise your blood levels, and your cholesterol levels are likely less important than perviously thought. ...but if you want to try a supplement, try Shaklee Iron + C. It isn't sold in stores, but you can buy it online. I honestly don't really love the company, but this is the only iron supplement I have ever heard of that doesn't cause upset stomach or constipation. My digestive system is a wreck, and I am just starting carnivore, but I take this iron every day (heavy peroods and history of anemia). No constipation, because it actually absorbs -- and when I had a hemoglobin finger prick test at my 6 week postartum visit, my hemoglobin level was an astonishing 14. (Anemic is below 10.) The nurse-midwife almost fell over. She had never seen such a result on a postpartum woman. I have recommended this to others as well, and they, too, have found it uncommonly gentle and effective.

Dr. Berry, I think I just found my daughters issue after about 6 yrs of no answers. She has been through sooo many test, even seen a pediatric cardiologist for heart palpitations and chest pain and wore a heart monitor. She gets light headed a lot, she has spells where she feels like she's floating, she hates that feeling, has shortness of breath and is pale. No answers from Drs. You think this would have been simple to figure out. I think this anemia has been her problem all along! I had her in the ER last wk (4.3 cmm ovarian cyst). They didn't say anything about her bloodwork to me, only handed her a script for an opioid that we refused. 🙄 I was looking at her bloodwork results this morning on mychart and it says she mildly anemic. After researching I think this has been her problem all along. She had bloodwork back in April and looking at it, a CBC was not done, only blood glucose and a metabolic panel. They dropped the ball!

I believe my children are also anemic, and will be starting them on beef liver soon. I get mine from a local farmer and I chop it up into tiny pieces and swallow it down whole and chase it with water. I haven’t been doing this consistently so maybe that’s why I’m still anemic. 😣
