KenDBerryMD keto for almost 2 years. My BP is still high. Lately heart palpitations. Everything else has improved. I am normal weight 71 yr old woman. My stress and anxiety level is higher lately and I had surgery in September to repair broken arm. Doc found a slight heart murmur. I have not felt the same either physically or mentally since then. On a low dose BP med since then also. First meds since 2011. I also exercise and do weight machines. I’m kind of flummoxed. Heart murmur causing thisBP issue? The doc kind of scared me and I am anxious about the heart thing. I am getting a stress test in 2 weeks. And a check up. I doubt she will like my cholesterol score so more scaring by doc. 🙄

i switched to keto and my blood pressure went up ten points on both numbers. it scared me. is that even normal? i have heard the diet was good for blood pressure and nothing about it doing this. i finally gave it up when i got out of the bathtub and my blood pressure was so high i could hear my heart beat in my head and i had to lay down for a bit since i felt like i was going to stroke out.

Missy Laneous I had that reaction when I tried a detox vegan diet. We’re not all wired the same. I’m six or seven months into keto. I lost 35 pounds. I’m 2 months into going to the gym. My blood pressure is all over the place. I fired my doc over insisting I take bp med and statin. My BP is always high in a doctor’s office!

I've been on a ketogenic diet for about 14 months. I found notes on my experience at the 12 week milestone. I originally started the keto diet so I could lose weight and hopefully reduce my blood pressure. My blood pressure was under control with medication. Without medication, it would run 150+/95+ . As a truck driver, diet and exercise are extremely challenging. So I started the diet to lose weight and lower my blood pressure but I experienced so many other benefits. I'm still in disbelief that I experienced so many other benefits. I started noticing changes within the first week. Here is what I experienced: 1 week - some weight loss 2 weeks - more weight loss - less cravings - less snacking 3 weeks - significantly reduced blood pressure so with my doctor's guidance, I reduced my medication - reduced appetite - reduced fatigue and I didn't need a midday power nap 4 weeks - no more joint pain which I took as being normal for my age but now it's gone - eliminated back pain - blood pressure normal so I discontinued all my BP meds - weight loss continues 5 weeks - appetite is reduced so I only eat one to two small meals a day and I'm not hungry - these weird skin tags are literally falling of my body - I wake up feeling much more rested and it seems I'm refreshed with less sleep. It's so easy to continue this diet because it almost immediately controls your appetite and cravings. Other diets leave you hungry and you will continue to crave. Just a little over a year and my wife and I feel amazing. My blood pressure remains normal at around 125/83 without any medication.

One of the main objections against a Low Carb High Fat diet (LCHF) is that "we don't know how dangerous it will be to consume all that saturated fat and salt in the long run ". Well, I have been on it for more than 9 years by now, and I still enjoy all the favors of this diet, with no side effects whatsoever (except possibly the abundant peeing :) ). As early as a month after I started eating this way, my blood pressure had gone from 140/90 (with pills) to 120/80 (without pills- I simply had to stop taking them since I almost fainted when walking up stairs or uphill). Now it is typically 110/70, and I am 78 years old. I experienced many other benefits from the diet change too. My knee arthritis stopped bothering me long ago- no more pain, and greater flexibility in all joints. Warts disappeared gradually, and no new ones have ever come to visit. My gut is functioning like clockwork, and it is 100% wind free- hallelujah. I need two hours less sleep each night, without force, and I have much more energy than can be expected from someone my age. How can anyone NOT eat this way? It is never too late to start!

Was low carb keto and my bp was still sometimes as high as 154/96. I knew I was was going to hear a medicine pitch at my next dr visit. Went 90% carnivore and within a month my readings were between 110/60 and 120/80. I’ve been mostly carnivore for over a year and a half now and my bp is always good. I eat mostly meat based with a small amount of dairy, fruit and nuts, occasional vegetable. Not only is my blood pressure doing great but I’ve lost weight that I couldn’t lose even on keto, and in general feel so much better.

My dad had high blood pressure issues and I knew mine was creeping up as I got older, but I turned a blind eye to it 12/16/19 I bought a bluetooth blood pressure cuff and it said my blood pressure was 177/127, not stage 1, not stage 2, but hypertensive crisis. scared the crap out of me 12/19/19 I began watching your videos and watched all of the ones on keto and began keto that day Just like you said, weight loss was rapid at the start. For me, 5 lbs in the first 3 days. This is the most painless diet I've been on. I'm satiated for a long period of time and eating a big plate of bacon, eggs and kale or asparagus seasoned with salt is not torture by any means, nor was the almost 12oz ribeye I grilled for dinner tonight. I don't have those horrible hunger pains from other diets. My blood pressure was coming down slowly, but seemed to plateau 1/2/20 I heard you say that intermittent fasting combined with keto increased weight loss and encouraged autophagy I liked the sound of that and was still scared by my BP, so I gave it a try. Immediately starting the 6 hour feeding window. Today, about a month and a half later, 1/31/20, I've lost 25 lbs, gained muscle from the long walks (from 2.2 miles to now 8.7 miles when I have the time. My energy and endurance now exceed my patience for walking, so I think I'll begin running soon.) I suggest you take cardio lightly until about 6 weeks in. I helped someone move 2 weeks in and overdid it with my newfound energy. My cardiovascular system hadn't adjusted yet, and my heart began to race during very heavy lifting. I run uphill on my walks now and am not out of breath anymore let alone gasping like I used to. My skin is tightening as I'm losing weight, which I believe is the autophagy you spoke of. I'm going to get my body fat percentage tested to find out how much more I need to lose, but I think it's probably another 22lbs and I know I'll reach it this time and be able to stay healthy. My BP is in the low stage 2 / high stage 1 (130/81 just now), so I do want to lower it more. I think it's still coming down. Loosing 22 more lbs will surely help. With the convenience of the bluetooth BP cuff and the help of the app, I've now realized my stage 1 readings coincide with my weekends, go figure. I think a change of occupation may be next. Thank you Dr. Berry! My mom is now watching your videos and surprised me with some of the supplements you suggested yesterday. May God bless you and your family.

Just some advice from a non-doctor (take it for what it's worth), but there was a huge long-term study (may have been nurses in Sweden, or something like that), and they found certain traits for those who lived to be old - one of them was higher blood pressure, the people who made it well into old age ALL had higher blood pressure (they didn't give numbers though). My point being that your original numbers were damn scary (I agree!), but your 130/81, to me is just fine for the long term, and I doubt the medical community can make a case that your at any elevated risk with your new numbers. So, if it does go down further due to Keto, fine, but if it were me (and I wish were me), I'd lay off any pills at those new numbers.

Brenda Rochon it definitely is a learning process! Just remember no bread, no potatoes, no corn, no sugar and stay away from processed foods as much as possible! The only sweetener we use is Stevia with Erythritol or monk fruit. All the others artificial sweeteners like sweet n low, Splenda, malitol, etc. can spike your insulin as much as regular sugar. With Keto we are trying to keep insulin levels down. Also intermittent fasting works. I’ve lost 32 pounds in 5 months! Dr. Berry is changing the world! For the better of course!

3 years ago I went to my Doctor to request a 3 month supply of my Blood Pressure medication because I was going travelling to SE Asia. I was told that this was not possible and the maximum permitted was 1 month. This turned out to be the best thing that has ever happened to me because I realised that I could no longer rely on Doctors to keep me healthy and I needed to take responsibility for my own health. I had one month to do it. I started to research how to lower BP. I came across Dr Ken Berry on KZbin and he had some videos on BP. I listened, I acted and lo and behold it worked. My BP slowly came down week by week until it was normal at 120/70, where it has remained to this day. Into the bargain I lost 3 1/2 Stones in Bodyweight and my recurring heartburn disappeared. I am now 60 years old and feel 20 years younger. This has all come about from changing my lifestyle to a low carb Keto diet with periods of intermittent fasting. It’s not difficult.

64 year old woman here. In 2016, my blood pressure was 180/90. Doc put me on medication. I became accidentally keto and started intermittent fasting. I currently fast 18 hours daily, plus a 3-5 day extended fast monthly. I am moving towards a carnivore way of eating. Today is my 6th day. With my lifestyle changes plus medication, my blood pressure got so low that as of Nov 2019 my daily readings were around 83/63. At that point I was FINALLY able to convince my doc to take me off medication. Before it got that low she kept insisting it was the medication that was regulating my BP, instead of my lifestyle changes. Now without medication, my daily readings are regularly between 113/72 - 126/75. I'm a bit annoyed when my BP is as "high" as 126/75 and that I haven't been able to get my diastolic more regularly under 75; but it beats the heck out of 180/90.

Doug I'm 67 and a retired physician. I went keto a little over a year ago, now even more committed-what Dr. Berry says is all true. He understates it. I lost 42#, pre-diabetes: gone. Hypercholesterolemia on Lipitor 20-gone including, the drug. Trigylcerides only 45, once 400. On antidepressants for 28 years-couldn't got off-mood normal meds gone since 12/2018. Chronic kidney disease stage 3-resolved. On 1/2 my blood pressure meds, and likely am going to have to drop more. Degen arthritis much better. Energy and sleep great. Heartburn gone, headaches gone. Eat on a 20:6 schedule, fast 24 hrs two days/ week, swim 50 laps 6 days a week, lift weights 2 days a week. Don't get hungry even if at the gym 2.5 hours when haven't eaten. What are you willing to do to feel great? Once you beat the cravings and sugar addiction after about three weeks, and fall off the wagon a couple of times, you may become fanatical and realize that the Krispy Kreme doughnut you thought you loved isn't worth it-says I who ate 13 one Sat morning at one sitting!

So even before watching this video, I found out I was well within Stroke levels with my blood pressure. At the age of 37! I was also 265 lbs (according to my scale.) Between intermittent fasting (16 to 20 hours without food), changing my diet to be more Keto-like (I did not make it a goal to adhere to it strictly but I have been naturally leaning that way with diet changes), and just doing 5k steps even just every few days (it was harder to do it daily in the winter), and taking only 20mg of Lisinopril, I have lost just over 37lbs between December and today (March 30th.) Where once I could barely stand up without feeling excruciating pain in my feet, muscle spasms, fatigue, and couldn't even sleep in a bed (I had to sleep in a hammock), now I can do fast-paced walking (practically a jog) for up to 8 minutes and still feel great. I can go up the stairs without feeling like I am going to pass out. I have a lot of improvement left to do, but I am super proud of how far I have gone. Seeing this video has really reinforced all of that. My BP is ranging within Hypertension Stg 1 levels. Still not where I want it to be, but definitely a vast improvement.

In 2008 I weighed 298 lbs and was taking 16 prescribed medications every day to stay alive. (Two injections, 3 inhalers included in the mix) Three meds were for blood pressure with a total of 5 doses a day of blood pressure medicine! I had a lapband placement and was placed on a “keto” diet although back then it was not called keto. (No sugar, no dairy, no grains, no processed foods, no coffee for 6 months and no alcohol for a year). I dropped about 125 pounds and EVERY SINGLE PRESCRIBED MEDICATION except 1 medication for blood pressure. I worked hard and one year later I was able to drop that last medication. When I weighed 298 pounds my blood pressure, on meds, averaged 140 over 90. I’m now 66 years old and my bp runs 110-120 over 60-76. I weigh 168-172 pounds and never leave that range. Life is good! Thank you Dr Berry for hopefully opening the eyes of a 30 year old somewhere out there. My eyes weren’t opened until I was in my 50”s. And that’s ok cause I don’t look back...I only look forward and embrace each day with a positive eye and an open heart.

I convinced him to just do keto for a few weeks prior to going into surgery just so his bp is lower. He didnt do strict keto but gave up his sugars and his bp is now around 120. In just two weeks!

Hi Dr Berry. I was on the verge of stage 1 high blood pressure. My numbers were steady at around 135/85. The breaking point was when I was sitting at Walgreens and reading the side effects of the blood pressure med I was prescribed to begin. I, at this point decided it was time to break the carb/sugar addiction. I went home and began watching your videos and others and i began carnivore with organ meets/electrolytes. After five days of fasting almost 24 hours and lightly walking a couple of miles around the block, i began keto flu and my blood pressure reading is 122/80. I know this is a start and I am glad that your videos have inspired me to fight for life independency away from big pharma. Thanks for helping us.

In 2016 I had a heart attack and quadruple heart bypass. My bp was 170/x without meds, but with meds 140/x. A month after my bypass I started doing keto against my doctor's advice. Two months after that I started doing intermittent fasting, and then extended fasts too. I came off all bp meds (I had been taking 3 meds daily). I got down to where my normal bp was about 105/60 or so. Low carb is a miracle, and combined it with fasting is the key to great health. My cardiologist released me, he said that my heart was so healthy that I did not need to see him anymore.

I truly love your advice!! Its very personal for me ,I am on a recovery of listening to the wrong advice from a Heart Doctor. I had to change how he advised me to eat . I wasn't getting better but worse . He had me on the dash diet. In December of 2019 2 days before Christmas I put myself on keto. And listening to you it has confirmed what is happening to my health . I am doing INCREDIBLE. I have great strength, my congestive heart failure it must be better . I don't retain water in my lower legs or in my lungs I can sleep like a log lol yes I dont need any oxygen to sleep at all and when I walk or do anything I am no longer short of breath or fatigue. I am 59 yrs old and had a stent put in my heart over a year now. My weight in December was 346 lb and today its 312 . My goal is and will be 200lbs . I should say I haven't yet but I will start a very sensible excercise program when I am under 300lb . And I am only 12 lbs from that goal . I do want to add . In two months I'm down 23lbs and feeling great. I have not gone back to the doctor yet, but have an appointment scheduled in March. My last labs weren't even able to measure my triglycerides as they were out of the range of the test. I'm eating mostly a carnivore diet as I'm not a fan of most veggies. I do eat the occasional side salad with my mean coated in bleu cheese dressing. Bacon, steak, burger patties, chicken wings (not breaded), cheese, and sausages are my staple diet. I've had so many people tell me "you're going to have a heart attack" that I've lost count. I fast 16 hours every day and seldom snack between lunch and dinner (my only two meals...and I DON'T get hungry). We'll see some March...stay tuned!

Six months ago, my blood pressure at the doc’s was something ridiculous like 189/125. I was already on 50mg. atenolol everyday. She was adamant to start writing more prescriptions. I said no and went home and did a lot of research including most importantly listening to Dr. Berry. In one day, I gave up breakfast, all grains, all sugars, all high carb fruits and vegetables, and all processed foods. I also included intermittent fasting. After six months, I’ve lost 45 lbs., I’m not on diabetes or BP or diuretics or statin meds anymore, and my blood pressure is now about 105/65. And inflammation is gone. My ring now spins around my finger! And here’s a note about salt. Salt is one of the electrolytes and is essential to good heart rhythm. One of my problems was also a-fib. It was determined that for some reason I had a hard time hanging on to potassium and salt and I suffered many episodes of a-fib. I was taking two 20 meq potassium tablets a day. The diuretic was to help lower BP but the minute I stopped taking it I no longer had trouble holding on to potassium. Funny how the doctors never figured that one out. Now, my keto diet provides lots of potassium and my “salt to taste” method provides the exact amount of sodium I need. No more a-fib episodes. No more high BP. No more high blood sugar. And my digestive track loves me.

I went to the hospital with a "hypertensive crisis." I spent months trying to manage it and lose weight, but failed. Two years later, I was diagnosed with type two diabetes. I pretty much decided the drugs I was taking accelerated my metabolic issues. I was taking the following: 81mg aspirin Carvedilol 2x daily Hydralazine 3x daily Allopurinol HCTZ Lisinopril I reversed diabetes with keto and fasting. In addition to reducing my inflammation and bringing down my A1c, to 4.8, my blood pressure also came down. We gradually de-prescribed all of it. I _did_ end up going back on half a 5mg (the smallest available) Lisinopril per day because my blood pressure crept up a bit, but I'm currently taking that half of one of those except when fasting for whole days, because my blood pressure gets too low if I take it while fasted. Oh, and I lost over 100 pounds and eight inches, so far, off my waist. _________ Edit: punctuation.

I have been following the Keto way of eating for over 2 years. When I saw my Dr. a few months ago, my BP was really high and he gave me medication to lower it. I couldn't understand, given what I know about Keto and living an active life. I took the pills for a while and started to have moments when I felt like I was about to faint. I started to monitor my BP with two different devices (in case one wasn't giving accurate measurements), at different times of the day, and the pressure was always below normal. I stopped the medication and continued to monitor, and I was always within normal range. I did this for several months, and when I returned to the Dr., with my BP diary in hand, my BP was again very high. The conclusion was that I have "white coat syndrome"! We discontinued the medication and I still monitor periodically. I am telling this story for anyone who might have a similar issue.

Before going on Keto I had so many maladies I couldn't believe I wasn't already dead. One treatment I was going in for at least every other month was a Phlebotomy. They literally bled a unit of blood out of me in an effort to thin my blood. If you have ever given blood you know it should flow pretty steadily and not take all that long to fill the receptacle bag. Mine literally flowed like maple syrup. After being on Keto for about 3 months my doctor stopped the treatments taking a "lets see how this looks next time" approach. It has been almost 2 years since I have had to undergo a phlebotomy and my blood pressure is where it was when I was in my 20s (I am 50 now). Sadly a different doctor convinced me of the quick fix method of treatment rather than even considering nutrition before I heard of the Keto diet and nuked my thyroid so I will be on synthroid the rest of my life. But other than that I have pretty much reversed all other health issues I had.

Doing both recommendations. I am a 43 year-old female nurse. I had just had a baby. My baby was probably nine months old at the time. I was breast-feeding. I had two other children at home. I wouldn’t have said that my life was more stressful than any other mother with three kids. I was holding my own. I needed to pick up a prescription for my son at the local pharmacy. I was not stressed I was without all my kids. And I saw a blood pressure machine and decided to take my pressure. To my surprise my blood pressure was 185/111. I could not believe it. I have hypertension in my family. So I thought with my age and with my family history, this was going to creep on me now. But I am an advocate for natural health and I detested the fact that I may need to be on blood pressure medication. It was difficult for my primary care physician to put me on the typical blood pressure medications because I was breast-feeding. She did a trial of labetelol first and had to max out my dose and then decided to put me on pricardia as an alternative to labeteol when that did not work. Pricardia worked better. While taking these drugs, I was looking for other ways to treat my blood pressure online. It led me to the keto diet which I had heard about but never thought it did anything to blood pressure. I usually heard more fit athletic people who regularly go to the gym talk about keto. I’ve been doing keto since May 2019 and I have to say with confidence that my blood pressure is no longer above 120 systolic. I do not take any medications anymore for my blood pressure. And I do spotcheck myself from time to time to make sure it is indeed not creeping up. I want to incorporate exercise in the future when I have the time. I think that will help even more. I love the keto diet, specifically a clean keto diet. It’s done me and my body wonders.

Yep. It works. Keto & Carnivore. For several years was on 2 injectables and an oral for insulin, 2 cholesterol meds and 3 high blood pressure meds. Within days of strictly following Keto per Dr. Berry I was off the injectables. Within a couple months I was off both cholesterol meds and 2 of 3 blood pressure meds. Big bonus was dropping over 100lbs! Oh, A1c was 5.1 on last visit and all blood values in normal range too! Thank you Dr. Berry! Have stalled on weight loss so am very excited about you upcoming Proper Human Diet symposium. Got my registration in and my t-shirt on! 🙌WOOHOO!🙌

I started this LCHF Keto way of eating and now weigh 189 lbs, blood glucose average of 90 daily, blood pressure average 110/75 ,daily and triglycerides 104. My blood work had a drmatic improvement in the first 5 months. All this and I did not starve myself or count calories. Just kerp carbs around 20 and 2 meals a day 😋

Thank you Dr. Berry! I was diagnosed with diabetes after retiring as a teacher, Feb 2015, because I sat around and ate a lot of ice cream and stayed up all night watching Netflix and Amazon Prime movies and slept all day. My first general blood test after retiring in early 2015 showed I had a blood glucose (A1c) reading that was off the chart, above 13, and I vowed to get it down; so in 3 months I dropped it down to 7 by changing my diet. I had to take metformin 4 per day, Glipizide 1 per day, and 20 mg of simvastatin for cholesterol 1 per night. I stayed like that for 4 years, but after watching your Keto videos and following your diet recommendations, within 3 months I was able to get my A1c down to 5.2. 5.4 is the threshold for diabetes patients to get off all metformin medications. Now I'm off all metformin; and, I recently stopped taking the simvastatin because it was causing me leg cramps after my doctor told me to double up on simvastatin because I'm on this Keto diet. Thank you and I've shared these videos with my friends. Sincerely, Richard Moore, EIT, MRE retired math & science teacher Simi Valley, CA

Started Keto on Jan 14th, 2019. At that time I was on 5mg Amlodipine for the past 3 years. On medication my BP was 130/78. In May 2019, 5 months keto, I stopped taking meds and monitored 3 times a day. After a month my average BP was 118/68. Took results to DR, who agreed, no more meds. And whatever I was doing, keep doing it. 1 year later, I'm running around 116/66 RHR 54.

I will share what worked for me. Week 1: Count all carbs per day. Week 2: Start at 140 grams per day, for 1 week. Week 3: Reduce daily carb count to 120 grams per day, for 1 week. Each week, on a given day, reduce the daily carb goal by 20 grams per day. Final Week: After you reach 20 grams per day (or whenever you reach ketosis) , consider how easy it would be to go carnivore at this point, and if you decide to do that, the next week starts zero carbs. Maintain this for at least 3 months before adding any low carb vegetables or fruit back in. I found, through sheer luck, that this gave me adequate time to learn from KZbin videos and other internet research, a lot about the subject, enabling me to continue with confidence my chosen path.

I've been a diabetic since the early 90's with high blood pressure. I started the Keto diet the 1st of January when my glucose level was mid 160's, three days later my glucose was down to the low 90's and has stayed there. Also my blood pressure was in the mid 160's/low 90's at the time, now I'm at the mid 130's/low 70's. I'm just starting on this diet and it is working great. I do ride a bicycle most days for about 10 to 20 miles. And tomorrow I start intermittent fast, which I''ll fast one day a week. I should make even better strides with my health. Love

I am 51 years old, 5'4", 20% body fat, very fit and muscular. I am a personal trainer so I know how to exercise . I have been low carb for the last 6 years or so and I have now been very strict keto for the last 7 weeks. I IF on a regular basis. My BP has not budged at all and remains high. I don't know what else to do. I am going to stick with keto and hope that it eventually helps me because I really don't want to die. I keep watching videos in hopes that something finally speaks to my unique situation.

My BP has always been 120/80 but I have always exercised 2 to 3 times a week. I went keto in late Dec. 2017 because I had reduced my exercise and gained 20 lbs. Interestingly my BP went up to 125/88 after doing keto for 4 months. After 8 months, I started bloating from the vegetables and started to get back pain probably from the oxalates in spinach. I started to reduce my greens and noticed that my bloating and back pain was going away. So on Jan. 01 2019 I did the world carnivore challenge for that month and felt even better than keto. When I had my yearly physical in that April, my BP had dropped to 100/67. My doc was like you must of started working out again. I said nope and told him about the "proper human diet" I was doing. lol So he ordered a bunch of lab work and everything was great. CRP was low, fasting insulin was low and as of today, I have been carnivore for 13 months and thriving. Excited to see how my labs turn out this year. I moved my physical to July to see if I could up my vitamin D levels any. It was above 30 but I would like above 65. FYI, I have been in ketosis since I started keto and my numbers never changed doing carnivore (glucose and ketones). Thanks for all you do!! I feel great and spread the message as much as possible and share the videos. Take care!!

I had high blood pressure for about 10’plus years and ended in the hospital with a hypertension crisis (220/130) until I discovered 6 months ago that by fasting for 16 hours and eating 50 to 100 carbs a day - 2 meals - and exercising everyday for 30-45 minutes I lowered my blood pressure from over 160/ 100 to 115/75 average and stopped taking hydrochlorothiazide ( water pills). I also lowered my A1C from 5.9 to 5.0. My glucose levels are in the low 90s on average from over 120. My body loves it. I can’t wait to tell my doctor. So what Dr. Berry is saying is true. 😊

Thank you Dr. Berry for sharing! I started keto diet with intermittent fasting last June and I was able to reverse my type 2 diabetes to pre-diabetes after 3 months, and back to normal 3 weeks ago. My blood pressure went down from over 140 to 100-120. All blood tests went back to normal from borderline high (Cholesterol, etc.). I had also severe fatty liver and after having whole abdomen ultrasound 2 weeks ago, its all gone. I’m not taking any medication at all. Just following what Dr. Ken Berry instructions in his video. My suggestion is, if you are afraid of doing keto diet because of recommended high fats food, watch Ken Berry’s videos over and over again to fully understand the principle and instructions. Once you are ready, take a blood chemistry test, whole abdomen ultrasound if you are having fatty liver, etc. This will be your baseline and will be used as a comparison and analysis. Then start keto diet with intermittent fasting, eating first fish with high fatty acids (if you want to be on a safe side) like tuna, salmon, combined with veggies, leafy green lettuce, eggs, almond bread, grass fed butter and cheese with no sugar. Measure your daily blood pressure and sugar level so you know if you are on track and if its working for you. I suggest you do this every morning. This will give you also an idea what food (the one you ate the previous day) increase or lower your blood pressure and sugar level. So you can validate and make necessary adjustment in your diet. Take HbA1c blood test every quarter to get the average of your sugar level for the past 3 months and see if your diet really works for you. After 6 months, you can do another HbA1c, blood test and whole abdomen ultrasound at the same time to check your if this diet really works for you and lower your blood pressure, normalize your sugar level, and remove your fatty liver. This really works for me. Thanks to Dr. Ken Berry! Keep it up! 😋

Hey Dr. Berry. I started carnivore back on February 10th, 2020. Back in first week of February My BP on 4 meds a day was 152/105 and my Doc increased the dose on one to see if it helped and it didn't. I decided it was time to do something myself and started carnivore. Well I slowly started realizing that I hadn't felt that good since high school and loved it. About a week ago I noticed my energy levels were really dipping and was a little light headed. Hadn't changed what I was eating at all and figured maybe my BP had spiked again since I was eating so much fat. Got an at home BP cuff and was completely shocked when my BP registered 118/74 (still on the meds) after walking for 30 minutes on treadmill. I kept watching it every day and I have registered readings consistently in the low 100's over 60's. I am waiting to hear back from my Doc and am praying I'll be able to get off some of the meds at least. I was told since I was 22 years old that I needed BP meds and would be on them for the rest of my life due to heredity. Now at 43 I actually have some hope on getting off at least a few if not all. I have also gone from 340 lbs day 1 to 294 today. I have a long way to go still (at least 100 more pounds)....but this is the most hope I've had in years! Thank you for all the great videos and all the help!

Dr Berry, when I first heard of lifestyle and yes i call it a lifestyle because thats what it is to me and my wife. My wife Steff first introduced me to this way of life and I thought oh its just another fad diet she'll try it for a few weeks and go back to what she always does, well at this time I was a over the road truck drive and came home every 2 week from work, every time she would be looking smaller it was working for her. About mid 2019 her Dr took her off all of her medication she was type 2 had high blood pressure and all types of pain in her joints that all was improving. so in march of 2019 I came off the road and went local she informed me that she would not push me to live the lifestyle she was but she would no stop living it I told thats why in coming off the road so we can do this together it was rough for me at first trying to do all the macro counting but she was a great teacher. I am in a battle with my Dr over my blood pressure meds I stopped tacking it I keep it checked regular at home but the meds was making me feel very bad so i stopped tacking it I am still a little elevated but it is getting better. what was funny when my wife was going to the same Dr he was so against this diet told her you can't do this diet its bad for you as a type 2 but she left and got a new Dr that supported her on the diet after he saw it was working for me I had some digestive problems I ask him do I need to lay off this diet for a bit he said oh no its working for you. so its been the best thing thats came into me and my wifes lives and I watch your videos all the time you are so informative and break it down for old hillbilly like me to understand thanks for all you do.

One of my goals at 39, turning 40 in the fall, is to come off of Azor and let keto bring my blood pressure down naturally. It’s working after 2 months and I’m slowly weaning myself off of my medication while monitoring side effects, symptoms, and blood pressure. I will eventually go back to my doc but I don’t want to do it till I have this under control, transform myself, and prove that I can do this without meds. I have a feeling he doesn’t like keto. I could see around his office that he has his own nutrition program. I don’t think it’s keto either.

In the first week, I've lost 8 lbs and stopped the Metformin (I'm taking my blood sugar several times a day). I'm sure the hyper tension will come down but not as fast as my blood sugar change. For anyone considering this diet, this diet is the real thing!!...NO JOKE. I must extend a big thanks to you Dr. Berry (and others) for your being at the forefront of this revolutionary reset of antiquated beliefs. I suffered from hypertension for many years, medicated with 50mgm of metoprolol daily. Because my mother was also afflicted, I assumed that genetics was involved. About 6 months ago I changed my keto diet, of many years, to strict carnivore. I'm 79 yo and not very active so most days, one midday meal is sufficient with a cheese snack sometimes earlier in the day. My BP dropped from 150/100 to 122/82. I have been off the medication for 6 weeks. The meds did drop my heart rate into the mid sixties now I'm stable in the mid seventies. Another benefit I enjoy is never being very hungry and having a BMI of 20.
