I’m 43 year old male, 6’2 and I was 250lbs. I had psoriasis, high blood pressure/cholesterol and problems sleeping. I’ve been on the carnivore diet for almost 6 months now. I lost 30lbs, my psoriasis is gone and my blood pressure/cholesterol is normal. This is a diet I’m going to keep doing the rest of my because I feel better then I ever have.

I have been a vegetarian for 20 years…..diagnosed with Hashimotos a year ago. After 12 months of compounding symptoms and no solid solutions from the medical community, I am trying to sort out my own solution. Intermittent fasting worked beautifully for me. Dropped nearly 40 lbs. but the autoimmune flares keep coming. So… just this week, I have reintroduced meat to my diet. Wish me luck!!

This may be a bit "out there" sounding but there was a study that took a group of people with various types of diseases (autoimmune included) and put them on an extremely simple vegetarian diet with intermittent fasting but one requirement was having their bare feet in contact with the soil for two hours per day. The results were miraculous. Simular to how this carnivore diet seems to cure folks. A possible alternative for those trying to avoid meat for whatever reason.

I also have a husband that eats all kinds of sweets, desserts, cookies, crackers, etc. He refuses to change. However, I started Keto a month ago, and I find that I can cook for both him and me. I just cook enough meat for both him and me, make a side dish for him, and a vegetable for me. I'm finding it easier every day. As soon as I can, I'm going to try out the carnivore diet, and then I'll only have to cook one side dish.

For those of us who love animals: Grass fed beef comes from cattle between one and two years old who spent their whole happy lives with their mothers and, after weaning, with their herd-family. If you buy from local farmers, the animals will not have had to endure long, stressful shipping before slaughter. They will not have been fattened with grains so their meat will not be full of glysophates which damage our kidneys. This is generally true for grass fed sheep, goats and llamas too. And bear in mind that the huge farms producing vegetarian foods are death zones for every living thing but the "product," but fields where meat animals graze are full of living things.

Keto was not good enough for me, unforch. Carnivore changed my life. and sometimes I fall off but I always claw my way back on. Last week I ate some naughty things and wow, I felt like a lunatic. I was so depressed, angry, I felt like I wanted to crawl into a hole and die. Been back on Carn for a few days and I'm way better now. Whew. You really have no idea what a difference diet makes until you see how bad it gets when you're off.

Caution, being on this way of eating (Meat only) that I've been on for 26 months has such a negative effect 😉on big Pharma, I’ve lost 70 lbs so far on it. And also lost type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, eczema, fibromyalgia, acid reflux, sleep apnea, arthritis, brain fog, and a ton of other ailments. Oh, and I am also off all the medication. I had a 15 pound fibroid removed along with several others that weren’t quite the same size all done at once. What the don’t tell you is you body will not allow that empty space left by the removal of growths to stay empty. First it will fill with fluid, then you will grow scar tissue. I carry 30 pounds of scar tissue in the abdomen because of that surgery. If you do have the growths removed, wear a compression garment after surgery, and for the first month do not sit, but lay on your back when resting. This will reduce the space where scar tissue will try to grow. I also think that if I had been on the carnivore or keto diet during recovery, not as much scar tissue would have grown, if at all. Hoping you are successful in changing your diet and getting healthier. If it doesn’t shrink the growths and you eventually need surgery, I hope what I have said here will be helpful to you. Best Wishes!

I now know why I couldnt lose weight on a carnivore diet. I was dehydrated, and my body was holding onto what little water it had, making the water usage more efficient. But it meant I didn't have a good memory, ability to taste fluctuated, pain was dulled and I had an inability to smell things. It's like my body wasn't working as well as it should. But now I've rehydrated for a week I can now lose weight again. Low carb diets are once again able to work for me!

I wanted to say that I'm just starting my Carnivore journey. I'm over 400lbs, my scale at home maxes out at 400, so that's the most I can say right now. I'm going into the doctor's office tomorrow morning for an official weight and check-in. But I want to say that I am excited to start this journey and see where it leads. I am pre-diabetic, and 47 years old. Overall, I feel in relatively good health, but lately I have been dealing with extreme fatigue, memory recall issues, sleep apnea, achilles tendonitis, and sore/weak muscles. My sleep apnea was one of the worst the clinic had seen to date, at over 120 episodes an hour. I do have a APAP machine, so that is managed at the moment, but I don't sleep well with the machine on regardless of dealing with the apnea episodes. Anyway, I'm excited to experience the transformation everyone is raving about. I'm thinking about vloging my carnivore journey, but we shall see. Any encouragement is greatly appreciated. God bless!

Summary of main points with timestamps: 1. 1:10 Commit to a 30-90 day challenge 2. 1:55 Eat until comfortably stuffed 3. 3:03 Eat 1-3 times a day 4. 3:55 Focus on eating fatty cuts of meat. You can experiment with adding fat to your meals. 5. 4:40 Transition to a Carnivore Diet (CD) slowly - take 1-3 weeks to get off carbs 6. 5:25 Give your stomach and gall bladder and liver time (a few weeks) to transition to a CD. 7. 7:35 Cook in animal fats, butter. Don't use vegetable oils. 8. 8:05 Use plenty of salt. Salt to taste. 9. 8:50 Clean out the pantry of carbs and inform your family before starting. Say you're doing a 90 day CD challenge to improve your health. 10. 9:30 Focus on getting enough electrolytes and minerals to minimise carb withdrawal symptoms and cravings for junk food. 11. 11:25 Eat the highest quality meats you can afford. 12. 12:05 Don't forget about the option of eating eggs, liver (high in vitamin C), seafood and shellfish. The CD hasn't resulted in scurvy or vitamin deficiencies like vitamin C in people who have eaten this way (without supplements) for over a decade. 13. 14:00 Drink as much water, sparkling water, tea or coffee as you like. 14. 14:30 Get to know your local butcher or meat dept manager to help discover cuts of meat you haven't tried (eat more nose-to-tail), access fat trimmings cheaply, access fatty cuts of meat. 15. 15:45 Seek out local sources of meats, eggs. This could save you money, give you more options for meat cuts to try. 16. 16:15 Focus on ruminant animals (beef, sheep, goat, venison) as the main part of your diet. Pork, poultry and seafood aren't bad though. 17. 17:10 Eat as much nose-to-tail as possible to get as many nutrients as possible and to reduce waste. 18. 18:05 Don't beat yourself up if you slip up and eat non-CD foods. Refocus on your goals for doing the CD. 19. 18:45 Consider CD vs Ketovore diet (a meat-heavy Ketogenic Diet). See what makes you feel better. 20. 19:10 Experiment with adding spices, condiments, onion, garlic, rubs. 21. 19:45 Experiment with different protein:fat ratios. Eg higher fat by adding butter to meat 22. 20:15 Experiment with adding dairy, kefir. Use full-fat dairy. Try a month of only having butter and gee and not other dairy if results aren't still optimal. Dairy can be inflammatory. 23. 21:10 Save all your bones - keep them in the freezer. Add to the bones, onion, spices, garlic and make bone broth to access more vitamins and minerals. Thanks Dr Berry! Please watch the whole video for many more details.

Dr. Berry, I started carnivore on Jan. 1 this year, and it seems I cannot watch enough of your videos! They have been soooo helpful. I'm 74 years old, with Type II diabetes, and my A1C jumped to above 9 last year. So I started keto. I was able to get my A1C down to 6 by November 2022, plus my weight went down. On Jan. 1 I started carnivore after watching your videos and Steak 'n Butter Gal. Immediately some of my skin problems improved and I felt better than ever. It's never too late to improve our health!

When I went Carnivore I went full tilt. Rough first 5 days or so and then I thought my bath scale went bad. Wife bought me a new one. It told me the same thing. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. SOOOOO motivated. Here it is six months later and people don't recognize me. A1c down from 7.3 to 5.9. TRIGLYCERIDES down from 427 to 91. Rarely get hungry. NO CRAVINGS for sweets. Metformin cut in half for next six months. No disaster pants for last five months. Sleep like a rock. Lovin this life. 59 years old. A year ago I hoped to see 60. Today I'm feeling like I could make 100. Still eat low carbs veggies if I like them, not because I have to. Also NO LONGER vitamin D deficient. Imagine that! Pitch the carbage .

With respect Dr. B honey isn’t bee vomit it’s actually flower nectar they collect and store in a separate compartment, not their stomach. It’s then expelled into the honey comb. All the bees flap their wings vigourously over the nectar to make it thick sticky. When it’s the right consistency it’s sealed with a layer of wax. I’m a honey and bee lover. Also latest research shows honey has a significantly lower plasma glucose response due to its different molecular structure from other sugars. I am a carnivore but do allow myself honey in my morning tea.

Hi, your videos are very helpful. I did keto for about 3 months, but frequently failed due to cravings. Also acid reflux didn't really go away with purely keto. Then I changed to carnivore which is a complete game changer. I'm 41 year old male, 194cm i started at 118kg. With keto i dropped to 108kg. Then plateaued. Starting carnivore within 3 days significant improvements started, noticeably my knee after squatting, no pain, noticeably more energy after 1 week, sharper concentration after 2 weeks. Been 30 days and happy to continue. I'm 104kg, id like to ideally weigh between 80-90kg. Fitness wise I've mainly been swimming but will start tennis again soon, i used to play semi professional when I was younger and don't want to risk damaging joints with excess baggage. From the age of 35 my resting blood glucose levels were creeping up as well as blood pressure, this was apparent on my annual class 1 aviation medicals. So had to take things seriously before I fail. The only issue I have found is trying to find a potassium supplement here in Australia. They are available online but not at pharmacies (without a script). Apparently reasoning behind this, it's easy to take too much where levels become dangerously high.

I do eat meat, i Just feel much better on a omnivore clean diet, basically Mediterranean diet: low red meat, favour lean meat and fish, carbs (also from grains in moderation) but only unprocessed complex ones, and lot of vegs fruits and legumes. Never a problem and health and lab tests never been better on exclusive diets be it veg or carnivore. My a1c is 4.8, ldl is below 100, no deficiencies at all (vit d high thanks to fish), CRP is 0.001, body fat at 16%, higher than average muscle mass and I'm 43.

If I sit down with five hard boiled eggs and only eat the first three, then wait ten or fifteen minutes - I'm satiated. Point is, I've trained myself to let the food register, then proceed eating slowly only if I'm still hungry. It does require some vigilance for those of us accustomed to over-eating. Seems the window for my stomach to send the 'full' message to my brain is approximately ten to fifteen minutes. Thank you for your efforts, Dr. Berry. I usually fast for 16+ hours, but I had a very busy day, so I was thrilled to know 6 yolks could keep me satisfied like that. Yea same. Like you don't realize how you're supposed to feel until you finally cut the junk. Then it makes it clear how BAD the junk actually is. People think how they feel after eating fast food or pizza or something is good or normal, but in reality you feel like absolute sht but don't know it because you know nothing else. And much of the difference is mental, like actual brain and emotional function is so much better without junk food.

This is so good to know and it makes sense since carbohydrates can slow you down. I could use a real energy burst. Right now I need dental work done and it's hard for me to chew meat. Suggestions anyone?

Wow!!! I'm so excited, can't wait to try this!!! I'm so tired of being tired...I feel so useless anymore, can't even keep my house clean which I ALWAYS had a clean house...now, I just stay reclined, in front of the TV- these last 5 years are SOOO not Me! I NEVER could even sit long enough to watch a movie, now I dont want to get up to go to the bathroom! ( I DO, but, I'm just saying...WHAT HAPPENNED TO ME?!) Thanks for sharing your comment- I'm starting this immediatly!

Brillant talk, thank you, Doc. Here is a summary of your talk. To the best of my ability. Hope it helps others listening to you. 1. commit to time period e.g 30 day challenge 2. eat until you are full 3. no snacks in between, 3 carnivore meals a day 4. fatty meat cuts 5. transition slowly to carnivore, one to 3 weeks. Bound to be some carb withdrawal. Give your stomach, liver, gall bladder, etc. time to change and adapt. 6. cook in animal fat, e. g butter. Increase fat to protein ration 7. Use real salt. 8.Clean out pantry of old stuff 9. Electrolytes - use electrolytes drops or minerals. Use a few drops of water you drink or on your meats, e.g.. Get rid of unhealthy fluids. A lot of electrolytes go out with kidneys.10. always buy good quality meats that YOU CAN AFFORD. 11. Don't forget eggs, organs e.g liver (pate), there is Vitamin C in liver, liver important in carnivore diet. 12. water. drink a lot of water, tea is fine 13. get to know local butcher, help you to know meats that you haven't heard of. 14. ox tail is full of collagen 15. animals e.g cows, lambs, "rudiment meats"16. eat animals organs (see no.11)17. Don't fret up if you slip up. don't worry about that one casserole friends bring. 18. consider difference keto vs carnivore (meat only diet). Consider spices...experiment protein/fat ratio, dairy, some do great with cream, yogurt, etc...some carnivores may find these inflammatory19. Bones. Use bones for broth. For minerals in the yarrow, getting max benefits from the animals. I found this talk really useful as i can easily do a carnivore diet as being a Chinese, we eat everything of the animal including their tails hahahaha ! I have a great chicken liver recipe, liverwurst is processed meat so make your own chicken liver (Recipe: A handful of chicken livers, one small onion, one clove garlic, 8-10 dessertspoons of butter. Fry all together, leave to cool, then blend till desired consistency. Serve with lettuce leave or eat as it is)

Dr.Berry , Thank you so much for the information that you and others like you are putting out there for use to use. I did your 90 day challenge and loved it I lost 45 lbs. I know that you are in the USA, I am in BC. Cananda. I just had some lab work done, can you tell me what my Cholesterol levels should be in Canadian terms. My doctor always says they are high and I tell him that they are where I want them and why do you want to kill me. He just tells me he wants to increase cholesterol medication. Thank you Tony

I’m a pharmacist. I quit my profession after years of “standard care” I saw in Long Term care. My education was flawed & and my job saw so many misuse of meds for older patients. I had a conversation with a 70 yo pharmacist and he asked me if we were making a difference? After some thought, I said no. We’re just drugging these patients trying to mask symptoms, and not fixing the main cause, which is mostly proper diet. Keto diet education made a big difference in how I look at what we should eat.

Unless you have autoimmunes you have found no relief for, there is no reason to go Carni. A higher protein version of Keto such as Modified Atkins or the style used by Lyle McDonald will work just as good.

Just starting a carnivore diet. I have developed eczema, extra weight, heartburn, joint pain, etc over the past 3 years. So, I'm hopeful this is the way to eat. The most difficult thing I've found so far is getting friends and family to understand my decision. Hopefully, they will catch on and respect what I'm doing.
