that first debana men... so good. That's just the most satisfying technique in kendo imo. The reaction of your aite shows very well just how defeated you feel after receiving such a good men.

I am a kendo beginner currently practising fumikomi and this was really helpful! Your explanation that fumikomi is more like running instead of lunging makes a lot of sense. The hikitsuke I practiced too much in the beginning so I tore a lot of skin off my left foot 😂 My problem now is how not to put too much weight on the front leg so I can jump farther. I tend to make only tiny hops instead of a nice big jump. Can you please do more videos on how to improve the distance covered in fumikomi/fumikiri?

Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I would love to see a video of what you are struggling with but it sounds like maybe you are pushing upwards rather than forward? Join one of my live streams maybe we can talk about it. Also in my previous video I talked about reach and distance maybe this could help too: Reach and Distance in KENDO FOR IPPON kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5LHkoRpgdF1pqc Let me know if I can help.

Hi Jose, thank you for your reply. I stumbled on all your old videos about footwork and now watching them. It helps to know I'm not the only person obssessed with footwork in kendo. For me it's probably because I'm so bad at it 😅😂 Please keep making more videos, you are inspiring a lot of people to get better at kendo.

hi Jose it is very good video about fumikomi. I found myself that when you are doing fumikoni correctly then your left leg will be released and will come over your right foot at the stamping moment thanks for your efforts

Yeah I think we tend to make it more complicated because we tense up, but good fumikomi should sharp and the legs should be able to tense and relax at the right moment. Thank you for watching and your colmenar !!!

@@KendotipsYes Jose, you tips helps a lot. And yes, i have suggestion for the next video. Can you please give us some tips, how we can act to one unknown opponent, to find out what a taktik is right to make a strike/ippon on him. It is of course an extensive thema, but is very interesting to know you experience. Perhaps you give tips, what moves we can make, to provokate the opponent breake his kamae for posibility to hit. I hope you can understand what i mean:) Thank you very much.

Hello Jose! Your explanation of fumikomi is very useful, it saves my right heel! I’m very happy that I can finally do right fumikomi. Thanks a lot! Could I repost and translate your video to Bilibili? I will post the URL of your video too. It’s a video platform in China, and I believe many kendo beginners there who suffer from the same problem would benefit from your video.

Hola! What a great video and such a nice explanation of the 3 concepts. I have one question, what kind of tabi are you wearing in min 2:05, it is a normal (standard) one? Gracias! :)

Hola!!! Thank you for your support on this video. About the Tabi, it is not a regular tabi, it fits more like a sock. I was trying to find a store that would sell it online but I couldn't find it. I got it in Japan, if you are coming or someone you know is here maybe I can help you get one. Again thank you for watching and the support.
