Brushing definitely removed lint for me! I was so surprised that it actually worked. My sisterlocs are already frizzy and it didn't make them more or less frizzy.

@terrineron66912 жыл бұрын
I use a board hair brush with are very soft bristles, brushing lightly not to disturb your locs just to catch the lint only. It works well for plus adds lots of shine to my hair. You do have to check hair often so lint don't get embedded in the locs. I do use silk pillow case and scarf too, very little lint.

I got my microlocs installed on 8/29 and it’s been amazing. No regrets, besides wishing I had done it sooner.

I've experienced lint in the back row of my locs and I brush them and use a satin pillow case. I will definitely try dying it because it seems to be the most efficient way.

Oh and also, this past year, I started to do an ACV rinse every 6 months to detox my locs. I usually see any lint build up that’s deep in the locs come to the surface when I do that.

Whew Chiiiilllleee... I felt you in the no grey hair at this time. I just diy re-installed my microlocs on Saturday, but not before I touched up those greys first! I thought I was ready for grey,, but mine are just not coming in cute yet...lol I love your hair, BTW. LOVE the update!🙌🏽💜🙌🏽
@kimledwards57952 жыл бұрын
Same for me sis about the grey. Mine are serious right in the front. Inherited from both parents. I am on schedule to get locs installed in the next couple weeks or sooner and I know that it will be a trial once my grey starts growing out again. I usually dye my hair every few months depending on how I am feeling at the moment. Once the locs are installed I will see from there if its something I can embrace or whether I will have to slap some dye in it again. Peace and blessings.
@deeyalafleur-moore79822 жыл бұрын
@@kimledwards5795 mine are also coming in strong in the front/my edges. Lol If I said out loud how I've been maintaining the grey-less look people would look at me crazy. Part of the reason that I self installed was because I wanted the freedom to manage my hair as I see fit. I was told that I couldn't color my hair with babylocs, but I'm doing so other stuff that isn't recommended, but is working for me. Good luck to you on your journey!💜

I’m a 2 months in !!!!! So excited and there are growing beautifully. I aim to do my reties every 6-8 weeks. There can be quite expensive so I try my best to allow my scalp to rest before I retire again
@syekiahenderson2 жыл бұрын
Soooo, I started my loc journey probably about a month before you. It was August 9th, 2019 so I am going on 3 yrs. I was so excited to see that you had locs too, I was like yassssss……cuz I needed all the help I could get. I love the coconut oil mist, and just recently started making my own organic rosemary oil for my scalp. I love the freedom of my locs. I’m getting kinda lazy with mines though. I wait a full two months before I retie just to give my scalp a nice break. Believe it or not, I still have a few around the perimeter that will unravel. And I also realized that my hair grows at different speeds, so l have some that need maintenance more often than the rest of my head. I have been combining my locs also, but now that they are mature, they are not locking together. So now I’m kinda stuck with a few two headed monsters. Has that happened to you also?

Thank you for sharing this video. I did a detox the other day and was devastated to find that I have lint. I'm less hard on myself knowing that even the loc baddies👑 have some lint. I don't even sit on the couch without a bonnet, like HOWWW did this happen?? I wear a lot of black cotton hoodies (thinking I'm safe) but I think that the black dye fades over time and just leaves gray buildup. I'm running to the beauty supply store right now to grab some dye. Thnx boo.😘

Nice👍🏽 one beautiful, I got all the gist, the tips and tricks😁 My locs are about few months and it's so true that sometimes no matter what you do to prevent lints, those notty things will find their way in, especially at the back but coverings do help to prevent it to a minimal level.

Love your hair and your loc journey. I’m seriously considering…scratch that I’m getting locs…I’m just still unsure about getting Microlocs or Sisterlocs…. I want the freedom of Microlocs seem to bring, I see a lot more people self maintaining their Microlocs opposed to sisterlocs. I really want the grid of sisterlocs and I’m not that skilled so doing it myself is out of the question as far as establishing my locs. But further down the line I want to cut some of the future expenses I’ll accumulate over the lifespan of my loc journey. My main question is since they are so similar to sisterlocs what was the deciding factor for you to choose Microlocs vs. Sisterlocs? Maybe you’ve addressed in pass videos so I’ll look out for it but yeah love to hear your thoughts on it.

Hello Kendra, the question I have for you is how long before you can start to do different styles to your new sisterlock after installation? I plan to start my sisterlock journey in late June 2022. Thanks for the information, much of your information has lead me on the decision of sisterlock journey, for I've been wearing micro braids and crochet hair stlye of and on for the last 30 years, so I'm very excited to start my lock journey. I may get brave and post a photo in the future.
