U is his conscious talking to himself and the guilt that he is feeling for becoming a famous artist and leaving the people from his neighbourhood behind. It is a lot of negative and self hate thoughts. I is the contrast of U where he is able to overcome those depressive thoughts and is able to love himself for who he is! Great video! It can be hard to understand his music the first couple of times without doing research about him and his background. He is hard to do first reactions to but great understanding of the second song. The album version of "i" is better imo.
