I have this nagging feeling that they only gave Kendrick the Pulitzer because of his fame more than the content of the album. Just to get some publicity and attention. This is the first time I seen Pulitzer Prize trending on Twitter, so I'm not saying they didn't actually respect rap as art, but if DAMN. wasn't so groundbreakingly popular, they wouldn't have given it to him. I can relate to this most through what the film awards go through. When an artist is 'robbed' of an award from a previous ceremony, often the academy will give it to the one that was robbed a few years later as an acknowledgement but usually for something less deserving i.e. Leo DiCaprio won the Oscar for The Revenant after he was robbed for Wolf of Wall Street and Django Unchained.
