Hi Ken...Your rendition of this is the best I have ever heard...Your setting is glorious and it all fits together so beautifully...I have watched this many times and will watch it many more, never tiring of it...I am now working on playing my Native American Style Flute along with you and enjoying the process as well as the results, though they be slow...Thank you!!!

Good morning Ken -- Such a wonderful classic tune something that touches the heart. The best thing about music is that it is a never ending journey of growth and playfulness. It is a journey where we meet new friends and share. You have a wonderful spot to play an early morning tune. I make sure I play at least one song each morning and then a few more throughout the day. Blessings to you Ken for sharing and teaching so much. Jeff / HU

Wow rapid response Ken. Many thanks will check them out. I had to ease up on playing Guitar, due to Tendonitis, so the journey takes another direction and another instrument. Guitar was the only route to have professional lessons as there are so few Professional Ukulele Classes. That’s where the KZbin Channel is so valuable, especially your videos. Thanks for all your inspiration.

Ken, love the old timey sound of the clawhammer with the re-entrant. Beautiful playing and really loved a couple of the chord changes near the end. Very subtle, but really added to the song. That Baritone sounds awesome in your hands. Beautiful Garden setting also. Thank You!

Thank you so much, Jeff. My garden can get a bit noisy with traffic from the main road. But it is a sort of secret garden and a wonderful place to play. Now that I have tried re-entrant tuning I know why I was not so enamoured with the baritone. The high D brings it to life and makes it fun (and challenging) to play.

Thanks friend I will visit that tonight. I recently purchased my first baritone uk. I play guitar also, but I hear it is an easier transition.
@KenMiddletonUkulele8 жыл бұрын
Maybe a little bit easier as the baritone is almost as large as a small guitar. Also the chords are the same as the top 4 guitar strings. Played differently though.

I have a set of Worth Medium Brown strings on my Favilla. I see that Aquila is also making a set of flourocarbons. I think these strings take away some of the extra "buzz" that many GCEA ukulele purists have objected to. I'll have to find these Living Water strings. Jeff / HU

Tutorials for this song? No. Ukulele clawhammer tutorials? Yes. Look at the videos of Aaron Keim, Lil Rev or Richard Hefner.

This is where the 4th string is higher in pitch than you'd expect. Most ukes are tuned this way. Baritone are normally tuned linear though, like a guitar.
