I have an older model Kenmore side-by-side it looks a little newer than the one you’re working on ,but pretty similar I’m hoping I’ll be able to find my defrost timer in the similar area. The disassembly looks a little bit different but mostly the same. The model numbers starts 106.555. On mine, Going to see if I can take the cover off and find out what model number is on the old part ?

Good Video. How will I know which terminal the black wire goes to for my Whirlpool. Do the instructions specifically state "For Whirlpool", or "For Kenmore" place wire on this terminal? Want to make sure I get it right. Thanks again for the video. -v-

My old defrost timer for Kenmore side-by-side fridge has no separate wire coming from plastic body; the new replacement part arrived with a black wire coming from the top of timer. Above video refers to "instructions with new timer" as to which plug prong the new wire should be attached to. No instructions accompanied my part. Do all timers now require this wire to be connected...and if so, to which prong?

Mine has a digital control pad. Model 52562100 Kenmore side by side yr built 2001. I believe I do not have this part, that it is integrated into the control panel.

I'm looking at a similar unit model #KSRB27QABL11 evap was frozen over. I replaced the heater and bimetal then unit froze over again 4 days later could I have a faulty timer? Anywho I just bought one and if it doesn't fix my problem idk what to look at.

The defrost control board is the last of the three components used for the defrost cycle. Make sure that you don’t have an air leak around the doors.

We have a Kenmore 596.69939011 fridge which is no longer properly cooling our food within the fridge portion, and is over freezing our food in the freezer. We have tried the following: 1. Unplugged the fridge for 1 hour, replugged. (This worked for 5 days, and was back at square one) 2. Drained the ice on the coil in the freezer & replaced the defrost thermostat (this worked for a week) The same thing is still happening (freezer way too cold, and fridge is warm) Do you know what the problem may be?
