This time, my fascination for nature and wildlife have led me to the beautiful birdsong of nesting Purple-Rumped Sunbirds. Insatiably curious about their nesting ethology, I observed them for a few days and tried to document them as thoroughly well as my limited time permitted. My goal was to become part of their world, and take everyone of you along. This is the heartwarming story of one of India's smallest birds, filmed up close and personal.

Dear Lawrence, Thank you for sharing such a wonderful film! It’s truly worth watching to gain insights into the habitat of purple-rumped sunbirds. I really appreciate your efforts in putting it together. I do have one query. While I also enjoy wildlife photography, I’m not as experienced as you and am currently trying to decide on the best lens for this genre. I’m considering a used Canon 600mm f/4 or 400mm f/2.8. I primarily focus on bird photography (not much on mammals) and currently use an R6 Mark II with a 100-400mm lens and a 1.4x extender. However, I learned that service support for the EF 600 IS II is only available until 2025. Could you share your thoughts or advice on this? Looking forward to your insights! Warm regards, Mohamed rafi rafimmedia photography
@KennethLawrencePhotography4 күн бұрын
Thank you very much. The EF 600mm III is what I'd recommend or the EF 800mm f5.6 if you're getting a good used piece. Note that the latter is very heavy.

Absolutely! I'm still in the midst of filming Season II. Because of the changing climate, I wasn't able to complete filming this year. I'm gonna have to try again in 2025.
