Funny thing. In the 1st verse he says "So much for ditching this town and hanging out on the coast..." and in the final verse he says "She hugged them both and headed off to the West coast." It's kinda like she's living the life he never got to.

Growing up is not always easy, but it is so much better than escaping from life. Life is pain, and life is pleasure. One requires the other. Good choice, Harri.

Kenny Chesney has a magical way of starting a song with a theme and then turning it on its head and making it into something different. It’s a little corny but still makes me tear up! He’s great!🌺✌️

That's Why I'm Here is another one of his songs that does that. He didn't write that one either, but he sure makes these songs his own with his delivery.

Lyrics in that are prophetic. Been with my wife coming up on 33 years now. My oldest is about to turn 30, and it seems like yesterday that I was coaching her, at 8 years old, in softball. I've learned not to blink. 😉

Kenny Chesney has over 20 #1 Billboard Country Hits & an extensive catalog (which recently sold 80% of the Rights to London based Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd). His songs run from sweet, sad, nostalgic, fun, some times goofy, to Island Vibe. Kenny Chesney spends much of late Fall - early Spring island hopping in the Caribbean from his home in the US Virgin Islands 🇻🇮 St. John aka "Love City". Every time I hear "The Good Stuff" & "Don't Blink" I'm reminded that I need to be the best husband I can be, that I need to cherish every moment. I even attribute Kenny Chesney's "Get Along", Kenny's collaboration with David Lee Murphy "Everthing's Gonna Be Alright", & Rodney Atkins "If You're Going Through Hell" with getting me through some of the hardest times mentally, emotionally, physically, & financially in my life (age 39-43). Every time I was on the verge of a mental & emotional breakdown from the stresses my family & I have been through over these past 4yrs, one of those three songs would pop up on my radio (broadcast or SiriusXM) some times back-to-back.

Country Music (especially 90s Country) tells it like it is and if there’s any emotion that you’re dealing with, this genre will bottle those feelings up and make music that will hopefully help you. My favorite songs from Kenny Chesney are That’s Why I’m Here; The Tin Man; All I Need to Know; Grandpa Told Me So; You Win, I Win, We Lose; There Goes My Life; Me and You; Who You’d Be Today; Don't Blink, A Chance; Fall in Love; and Every Other Weekend (duet with Reba McEntire).
@tonyarenee5312 жыл бұрын
Respect your appreciation for country music! They tell a story! I am very old school! I loved Kenny when He came out still do so much! but for me the storytellers are the older country singers -- George Jones Willie Nelson Don Williams Johnny Cash Conway Twitty 60's 70's and into the 80's with George Strait Alan Jackson Vince Gill and many others .... Also When Tim McGraw came out but the new country to me IMO doesn't really tell stories like older country its more cookie cutter .... but that's my opinion growing up on Country with My Dad singing Merle Haggard Willie Nelson and the likes and pickin guitar to even some older country!

My parents cried when they dropped me off at college. But I’m the oldest. Then made me drop off my little sister a few years later (not that I minded). Baby sister drove herself. Makes me laugh inside that the emotion erodes of letting go.
