It's too expensive for me, but I've JUST discovered that they have now put most of the series on dvd!! It's on Amazon UK. Apparently some of the later sketches are missing, and a few of the musical acts, Inc Kate Bush, but most of it is there.

Shows how possible it is to miss someone one didn't even know personally...I remember KE from his DJ days, he was rebellious, quirky, original - and much copied since - both ahead of and of his time, and while not everything he did was brilliant, so much of it was, and I think people just love him for who he was.

I had her on my wall, so to speak, on a poster all the way through my undergrad years. She's even more beautiful in this video than I remember. She's slightly scary now but she was jaw dropping back then....

@@ChristovMr Manchester TV does not count. As someone who was intro'd to some new groups on it makes that claim painful. Mind you it surprises me that the channel could afford the license to broadcast it, though I am glad that they can. I live in Manchester and I have not met anyone who has heard of that channel. I only discovered it thanks to serendipity.

The Kenny Everett Video Show is listed in the 1001 TV Shows You Must See Before You Die reference book. I've been watching some of the old show, and it's clear Everett had a very outgoing and charismatic personality. It's terrible he died at age 50 (and that his series only lasted for four years).

Oh please. I just saw this entire show broadcast recently on television. What are you talking about? What “something awful” about it do you see that non-whiners don’t? It was funny then when it was broadcast; it’s still broadcast as reruns, at least here in New England where I’m at, and no one is offended or complaining. Kenny was a big audio nut who made his own tapes, links and jingles as far back as even before he became a proper DJ with the pirate ships. It's fair to say that Meek and the Radiophonic Workshop were likely influences

@oatstao I have no idea what her private thoughts of a mystical persuasion may be but what has that got to do with the price of fish? She's a national treasure because she does what she does and a significant number of people around the world like it and she doesn't give a hoot about being in the limelight or making huge mountains of useless cash for herself while she does it. She's more happy making a nice quiche than being in the newspapers or having her face stretched every couple of years.

Cool singer but she talks like a female version of Rodney Trotter from Only Fools and Horses. Her singing voice is much better. Personally i think Bush is one of the most underrated artists in Britain. Its a fact that most of the young teenagers on Council Estates nowadays (both Black and White) have never heard of her. Aside from her Rodney Trotter personna which (incidentally seems a bit fake) i would say that Bush is a super talented singer and an amazing dancer. She is one of the greatest stand alone artists this country has ever produced.
