I saw him perform this live with Jim Messina at the Universal Amphitheater back around 1974. Open air, warm summer night, the beautiful woman I met in my college English class at my side. The happy memories of youth 😊

Again I return to listen; yet it sounds more beautiful than ever. Today my son, Danny, welcomed his son into the world. Life, like the river goes on and on...💖

I've seen Kenny Loggins perform many times going back to 1982. Just bought tickets to his final "This is It" tour. He's a unique talent and I can't think of a song he's performed that I don't like.

Kenny you've given us so many gifts! I remember the first time I heard this song....It played on the radio in Seattle. I could see the lyrics dance along. Pure poetry, my friend. Songwriters today no longer feel the stuff that's being recorded. Seldom do I hear new stuff that I feel before I hear. Such a lost art the writing seems to be. It all seems to be about money, sex, or violence. Or any combination of the three. What a shame.

Danny’s Song Loggins and Messina People smile and tell me I'm the lucky one And we've just begun Think I'm gonna have a son He will be like she and me As free as a dove Conceived in love Sun is gonna shine above Even though we ain't got money I'm so in love with you, honey And everything will bring A chain of love, oh, oh, yeah In the mornin', when I rise You bring a tear of joy to my eyes And tell me everything is gonna be alright Seems as though, a month ago I was Beta-Chi Never got high Oh, was a sorry guy Now, I smile and face the girl That shares my name, yeah Now I'm through with the game This boy'll never be the same And even though we ain't got money I'm so in love with you, honey And everything will bring A chain of love, oh, oh, oh In the morning, when I rise You bring a tear of joy to my eyes And tell me everything is gonna be alright Pisces, Virgo rising Is a very good sign Strong and kind And the little boy is mine But, now I see a family Where once was none Now we've just begun Yeah, we're gonna fly to the sun Even though we ain't got money I'm so in love with you, honey And everything will bring A chain of love, oh, oh, yeah And in the morning, when I rise You bring a tear of joy to my eyes And tell me everything is gonna be alright Love the girl who holds The world in a paper cup Drink it up Love her and she'll bring you luck And if you find she helps your mind Better take her home, home, yeah Where don't you live alone Try to earn what lovers own Even though we ain't got money I'm so in love with you, honey And everything will bring A chain of love, oh, oh, oh In the morning, when I rise You bring a tear of joy to my eyes And tell me everything is gonna be alright

This is real singing with so much effort done and naturally performed his best. I dislike now a days singer use autotune which is like taking short cut and no value in singing!
@davidfoote6963 жыл бұрын
Its not a shortcut, its a tool artists use. Thats like saying all CGI is cheating at drawing. Times change, tools change. We all have preferences. I prefer listening to this over autotuned music too, but some people love those kinds of songs. To each their own.
@rangerrange52323 жыл бұрын
@@davidfoote696 I dont support this!
@frandanco62892 жыл бұрын
Real Musician Singers do not need auto tune anything because they are real Musicians....They studied, learned, listened, worked hard, and earned their stripes.... All the others - hacks.....

That one line that Steve George sang (listening and learning and yearning) is a rarity in itself. A criminally underused lead singer, whose sole lead vocal output on record is two or three songs on a couple of late 70s Pages albums. Aside from this one line, that is.
@Despina8384 жыл бұрын

If you've been thinkin' you were all that you've got Then don't feel alone anymore 'Cause when we're together then you've got a lot 'Cause I am the river and you are the shore And it goes on and on, watching the river run Further and further from things that we've done Leaving them one by one And we have just begun, watching the river run Listening and learning and yearning to run, river, run Winding and swirling and dancing along We passed by the old willow tree Where lovers caress as we sing them our song, Rejoicing together when we greet the sea And it goes on and on, watching the river run Further and further from things that we've done Leaving them one by one And we have just begun, watching the river run Listening and learning and yearning to run, river, run
