I gained a lot of respect for Kenny after discovering this band. I thought he was just a vocalist that sang other people songs. But then I saw him playing bass and singing at same time and learned he wrote these a lot of his song timeless songs. He was a musical legend with a golden voice.

Kenny Rogers really wanted to be a rock and roll singer, but had limited success, dipped his toe into country and had a hit with the Gambler, and you can't say he didn't look back as evidenced by some encounters at some concerts where he would try to introduce the audience to his former music [even recently], and most responded with silence and bewilderment. I am not sure what he expected of country western fans, but at least he still seems fond of his former work. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4avgHZjYtaIhas

Kenny was a legend and people should know how talented he was he pushed the envelope of singer can be and let people see that music is music and you can sing what ever genre you want if he hadn't look at all the music we wouldn't have today and he gave other singers the courage to step out and sing the music they want to.

One of the best songs that describes precisely the strange feelings that you feel when you trip on hallucinogens. Even if the sensations are weird, if you do hallucinogens right, they can change you for the better permanently. More understanding, more emphatic, more in awe of the nature and the natural beauty around us, more easily to detect bullshit from people who push it. It’s amazing if done right. Thank you for that song Kenny. May God Rest your soul easy, my brother.
