Thanks Don . I remember thinking he said 400 hundred children instead of 4 hungry children also feeling embarrassed being corrected by a adult. "my goodness Penny how even think that thats alot of children." Now I found out there were many others that thought that. Also I was never corrected thinking it said this time I am hurting my heal . Then to find out there were so many misheard lyrics by 70s Children I just had to share.

I did the same thing with Donna Fargos song "Happiest girl in the whole USA." For over 40 years, l thought Donna sang, "You make the coffee & l'll bake the bread." I could never figure out why she was making bread at 9:00 in the morning before work. One morning driving to work, it hit me, & l started laughing. Donna was saying "l'll make the bed." It finally made sense!🤣🤣🤣

I can remember how, as a kid, this song had an impact on me. It's short and simple, but paints such a picture of loss, and I could easily see that big guy and his kids, at home, struggling to get by with the wife/mom gone.

Please take a listen to this little-known duet between Lari White and Esera Tuaolo from 1996. It is amazing, and has disappointingly few views or comments. Terribly overlooked. It’s been a week so don’t know if you’ll see this post, but NO KIDDING, I was stuck in traffic this morning and “Lucille” came on Willie’s Roadhouse. About 5 minutes later I look over and see a car with license plate that says LUCILLE!!! Coincidence/chance is a funny thing 😂

Hey Don I think those are Steel Drums - made famous originally by The Trinidad and Tobago Steel Drum Orchestra, which was founded in the 1940s, and subsequently adopted into many musical styles. Thanks Penny for your request of Kenny Kenny is a great story teller. There is a parody song "You Picked A A Fine Time To Leave Me Loose Wheel". To me this is just a middle of the road song for Kenny nothing spectacular about it. No way a 10, a 9.0 at best. And how does a song go from a 9.5 to a 10 based on the requester? Misunderstood lyrics? How's that, "Five Hundred Children and a Crop in the field" line grab yah? That's what I always used to say. Goodness, that Lucille must have been mighty busy! Yeah, I know it's actually 5 Hungry Children, but I could swear I've heard it as 500 more than a time or too. Ha-Haw-Ha!

about mis-heard lines - when Credence Clearwater "Bad Moon on the Rise " came out - a bunch of us thought they were singing ""There's a bathroom on the right" - we had to buy the sheet music to find the right lines!!! This is a parody to this song - that makes it end up saying - I'm sure glad you left me Lucille"" something about finding oil on the property!! LOl

Great review....another one that I'd suggest an alternative version. Early Waylon Jennings . Not that it's incredibly different, no. It just has some great guitar picking at the end.😅
