I always liked this song. I met my husband when I was 16, he was 26. We had 41 years together. I lost him 6 years ago and I miss him so much. Funny the 41 years went by so fast but the last 6 have crawled.

I’m so glad you loved this as much as I do. Your wife will cry I’m sure. My parents were together for over 50 years. They would dance to this every single anniversary since this song came out until my father passed in 1995. It’s just a very touching and true song of enduring love. This is my song to my precious little angel, Smokey. I adopted him from the Maryland SPCA two months after I lost my mother (she died exactly 2 weeks before my 40th birthday) as an 11 week old kitten. He is now almost 13 1/2 years old. Two weeks ago, I had to take him to the vet because he had lost a lot of weight, wasn't eating or drinking and was told by the vet that he didn't think he was going to live another 48 hours. By the grace of God, when I talked to the vet on Halloween, the vet told me that Smokey was in his words "a medical mystery miracle." (I have been called that by doctors 4 times in my life) and I played this song numerous times a couple of weeks ago. He is back to being my happy, playful, loving little boy! THANK YOU for reacting to this song!

My husband and I had a wonderful marriage of 40 years until cancer took him from us. This is a perfect song to celebrate long lasting love. Alan Jackson has a song celebrating long loves called Remember When. Randy Travis also has a song celebrating long loves calked, Forever and Ever Amen. We are the lucky ones to have those long lasting loves and marriages.

I started crying from the intro. At 47yrs of age I was his biggest fan from probably the age of five right up until his passing in March of 2020. This very song, "Through the Years" is my all-time favorite but I also recommend "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer" AND "Love will Turn you Around"! Have a fantastic day!!!!!!!
