KWS "made me" to liste to SRV more than I would in younger days....for a longer period, beside some grunge bands, I didnt listen notning but KWS...and of course Hendrix and SRV...

Great man!
@johnnyiliendo70994 жыл бұрын
that's because SRV was his idol, there are pictures out there with SRV and Kenny as a young boy. So that's probably why there is a simalarity in their style

Exactly Johnny, and you know what there's nothing wrong with that because the mission of good music is to inspire and change people's lives for better. Best Regards!

I want just remind you that Kenny Wayne is a Blues Rock Master. I mean, he is in the same level of guys like Joe Bonamasa, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Warren Haynes, Slash, etc. That is the reason you can have difficulties in performing his songs. Actually it requires daily practice in order to play it in time with a the proper intonation. Just take your time and not be in a hurry bro! I am recording new videos and all my videos again, with better image quality and tone either, when I do this video again I will try to include a guitar tab on it!

What I love about KWS is that you can cover his songs and if you get the basic grove down and a little close on the licks you are a guitar god... You Ricardo are a beast...

You must play the tune without the sound the original, to know if it's like kws playing.

KWS uses other chords than you do. You are pretty close but it doesn't sound 100% right. Use these instead (from high to low E); 8, 8, 6, 7, x, x and 10, 7, x, 10, x, x How the hand is shaped over the neck and how much the strings are muted plays a big role also. Before the two chords he plays down the neck on fret 2 and 3. Give it a try and see what you think? ;) Rock on!

Thanks for comment, so it is an honor to discuss with special people like you. First of all you are correct, there are details that can be improved, I fully agree with that. Blues has a fundamental influence on other musical styles such as Classic Rock, Rock'n Roll, and Hard Rock, and it is clear that Kenny Wayne's style can touch people beyond the traditional blues audience. Another detail is that players don't master all musical styles, note that I am not a Blues Master, in fact I am the Hard Rock player and still in the process of learning, anyway this video performance is on my list of videos that I have to do again, and when I do it, I will be focusing on the details with a more accurate finish. Best Regards!

@@ricardomonteirogtr Cheers mate! And to take it even more purist. Skip the 6 and mute it instead, on the first chord. KWS does that just to mix it up a bit ;) Stuff and chords like that comes to shine when you use a craked Super Reverb with attenuator on -8dB. But with KWS stuff we really need to dig in to the strings and play hard :)

does it matter if you get the same sounds? I play with tons of bad habits and can still get the right music out
