Good answer. Stevie was the guy who got me to look into Blues music history along with those great Alligator records tape cassette covers inside the cassette. Alot of history was inside those covers.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen both SRV and KWS…. Can you imagine them playing together?

Kenny Wayne Shepards Dad took him to see Stevie Ray Vaughan and put young Kenny Wayne up on his amp and the rest is history and you can tell the tone and style when you see Kenny Wayne play and now Kenny Wayne Shepards is badass period 💯💯👍👍😎

Stevie would be SO proud of the legacy Kenny has made for himself. Kenny nearly single-handedly carried the torch for the blues ever since Stevie died.

At doing what? Covering other people's music or stealing your entire sound and style from Albert king, Freddie king and Jimi hendrix?

The story I heard was KWS's dad was SRV's manager for a while. Kenny would go with his dad to some of the shows and a great influence on him. You can hear it in the way he plays.

SRV was an asteroid to guitar playing

Me too. It was SRV who made me want to pick up the guitar. I didn’t have the privilege of seeing him live when I was little, it was the Crossfire music video on MTV.

And Kenny. I was inspired by his style of playing when Trouble Is came out and that he's only four years older than me.

Wow, I saw KWS with Johnny Lang and BB King. I told a guy near me I was a SRV fan and I guess this is the closest I'd see to him play. Guy was at the last concert SRV played and saw my point, but said no one in the world will ever compare to SRV.

There are alot of KWS haters. I wonder if its jealousy or do they have a lack of talent? Both, maybe?? I was influenced by SRV when I was 13,along with Billy Gibbons,Jimi Hendrix,Robert Johnson,Freddie King_to name most of my top influences. I also like and respect Kenny Wayne.
@Coda67669 ай бұрын
I'm sure SRV was a big influence on most guitar players today . I'll bet there's a bunch of kids right now being influenced by KWS. I've been taking lessons for a year and its not easy at all. It takes a lot of passion, practice and patience to get good on the guitar. There will always be the rare ones who go beyond all that and never limit themselves to be just 'good'.
