Very interesting video,loved this one. A small scrolled lyre on the top of the centre piece would let the unknowing eye, the purpose of the object.

I love that idea Andy. Where were you when I was designing it? LOL. I may just add that yet. Thanks for tuning in to the show and taking the time to leave your suggestion. It's very much appreciated.

I cannot see myself ever making this music stand Ken but I definitely think it is by far one of your finest builds on your site. Really enjoyed the tutorial. I enjoy the entire layout process of wood projects and this showcased that side of the build wonderfully. This was excellent Harleymike/chicago

Boy, Danish Oil will really make the grain pop. That would make a heirloom piece for a child, hands down. Very nice piece Kenny.

Enjoyed the project, I have never used a drive rivet, only a regular rivet, but I see that this would be a great place for a sex bolt. I use these bolt when I attach two pieces of leather together and make keychains on my scrollsaw.

Paul, did this project bring back memories of your folding trivet 6 years ago? Both are marvels of engineering (or real good luck!)! Ha!

Kenny, one of the things that I really like about your videos is when you make a mistake (as we all do) you don't edit it out, but show how you correct it.

Thanks for the kind words. I have always thought of mistakes as an opportunity to learn. If I were to edit them out (like some channels) then I am taking away a chance for the viewer to learn something. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL. Thanks for tuning in this week and taking the time to leave your comment. I truly appreciate it.

very cool project. was wondering how did you attach the back bracket stand?
@acutabove_woodworkings
@acutabove_woodworkings 3 жыл бұрын
The back bracket stand was attached mostly with glue but I added a couple of drive pins. For the most part though, the glue is what holds the stand in place. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show Jacques and taking the time to leave the kind words. It's very much appreciated.

@@acutabove_woodworkings Kenny - really enjoyed the video. My son has just got a piano and is keen to progress his music so this will be a great project for me to make for him. Like one of the other subscribers, I'm a bit confused as to how you've tackled the stand support. I get that you glue the top section to the main stand but how did you hinge the lower section to provide the back support? Always look forward to your Friday videos.
@acutabove_woodworkings
@acutabove_woodworkings 3 жыл бұрын
@@jclwyd I went through the video to see where the confusion lies and apparently, I neglected to mention the hinges. At 23:15 in the video, you can see the small brass hinges between the upper and lower sections of the stand. The hinges are recessed on the back of the stand so that they don't interfere with it lying flat to the music stand itself. Once I had the hinges mounted properly to allow the fold out section to lie flat against the music stand, I then glued the smaller top section in place, allowing the larger section of the fold out stand to pivot on the hinges. I hope this explains it a little better Clwyd and clears up any confusion that there may be. If not, please feel free to continue this conversation here and I will do my best to sort it out.
