Based in certain visible buildings, we can tell this is likely from the Early to Mid 1920s. We can see the Kennywood Dance hall, which burnt down in the mid 1920s. Also, there was a visible coaster at Skyrocket’s plot, which was likely Figure 8 Toboggan, which means this POV was from 1920 or 1921, which could make sense as the first movie camera was invented in 1888.

This is one of my favorite "woodies". It's always the first one we ride when we visit Kennywood! Interesting tidbit: Unlike other coaster pov vids on youtube, this one more accurately reflects the true angle of descent for the hills, which is quite steep. This is because most people are using wide-angle smartphone cameras to record the ride, and that distorts the view, making the hills appear to be very flat and mild. Whereas the camera used here appeared to have a normal (50mm) lens attached, so you really experience the ride as you would if you were actually in the car!

I prefer the back seat POVs on modern cameras as they better capture the angle of descent

Supposedly, there's a Pittsburgh history book that has some good photos, but they're not on the internet yet. I would love a true pov video of a ride on the Pippin though. Especially since it featured a double dip. You don't see many of those anymore.

Based on what I've seen in the video for certain, I was able to narrow down the year this was created to some time between 1927 and 1944, since you can see the original tunnel for the ride along with Racer's original layout from before they removed the bunny hills. If anyone has some more information that could help, please share it as I really want to find the year this was recorded in. Edit 1: I just noticed that this must be before 1940, as the windmill is not in its current location. That narrows it down to years between 1927 and 1940.
