@@youretarget155 It is not my, nor anyone elses job, to make sure a game gets "better and faster" development. Especially with a game in dev this long. Too many times has a game been "promising" or "ambitious" in early access only to flop and be abandoned or is managed by incompetent developers, I'm not going to boost a game until I'm certain it's either A) Fun or B) Complete and interesting. Ideally both. My job is to present a game I deem enjoyable, and back then the game was not enjoyable to me.

I love that you're giving consideration to what your character is thinking and feeling in a game like this. I know it's an RPG, but it isn't like Fallout or Skyrim where the game is designed in such a way that you start off only slightly less powerful than everyone that you encounter and you can focus more on role-playing and less about managing your vitals (hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say). This game seems to require an almost overwhelming attention to it's mechanics and the movements of NPCs all around you, with minimal time to concern yourself with more intimate attention to character development and all that. Obviously though, you seem to be doing that quite well

So far, my character Mars has immediately gotten attacked by bonedogs, recovered in The Hub and then traveled to Squin. Met Ruka and wandered into Admag after stealing from an attacked caravan. And after meeting Takao in Admag, the team traveled to Vain. Got trapped in a hive village for days because of Beak things, and after several near deaths, finally ran for it and got back to the Hub where they're just mining and scavenging from starving bandits. The team's getting ready to venture out to the Holy Nation cities next... It was absolutely futile journey, and yet unexpectedly enjoyable.

Unfortunately, that's a bit of a flaw with the game's recruitment system. Characters either join you way too easily (swearing lifelong loyalty for the price of what can buy you food for two days), while some will reject you with no second chances if you don't play along fully with their whims.

@@ThePurbleKing But isn't that how people are in real life? i dont see it as a flaw at all, its a good story telling mechanic, you called someone an old fool, so of course they dont like you, and wouldn't want to help you, and maybe yeah, the price is a day or 2 worth of food, but maybe by providing that, they can see you are a resourceful individual and see that in the long run, both of your chances of survival is better together, just food for thought though, the great thing about the internet and games like this, is there are so many different opinions!
@ThePurbleKing6 жыл бұрын
@@dune358 I'm not sure what world you live in, but the one that I live in doesn't involve people being impossible to talk to after you don't say the perfect thing. They also don't swear lifetime loyalty to you for the price of a couple sandwiches. Thing is, your explanation of that behavior shouldn't work for all individuals, just some of them. It's meant to be a simulation game, and yet NPCs can't be interacted with much, and what little character does exist inside NPCs disappears once you've spoken to them once, or have them join you. And that just takes me right out of the simulation experience. I could be a slaver, a coward, a mercenary, a merchant, a zealot, or anything else... and these NPCs would react to me the same exact way every single time. And by that, I mean they don't react at all. It's one of the biggest flaws of Kenshi, because there are no characters, really. No people. Just recruitable NPCs, and NPCs you can't recruit or interact with in any meaningful way. And as a result the game feels empty, unless you make up interactions in your head and do the world's work for it. It's a wonderful game, but severely lacking in anything that could help roleplaying be more immersive, or choices mattering at all.

From the little I’ve played, I really do enjoy the gameplay. The unfortunate part about such a long development time is that there are a lot of aspects that feel dated. Oh man, good times! I'll be doing gaming content again, but moving to a new channel (it's currently what was once the Judge Mathas Channel. the new artwork etc is currently in the works!). You can check that out over at www.youtube.com/@pixelloungerush !

Also, a close look to your (numerous!) stats and those of potential ennemies will help you a great deal in assessing a situation

Love this game and loved watching you play it! Hopefully Rusthilt doesn’t lose a limb and is forced to be carried around by his friends, hunting for prosthetic limbs. You’d be surprised how many limbs are lost in Kenshi.

I was looking for videos to sort of convince me to buy Kenshi as I've heard about it before but was on the fence. After seeing this, I bought it and subbed. Love the vids!
