Track 1 "Drop of Spring" resonates with Poem 2 by Ki no Tsurayuki in the first Book of Spring of the Kokinshu: today long-awaited day when spring begins will the breeze melt icebound waters in which we once dipped cupped hands drenching summer robes

This channel makes my studying such a pleasure.... I thought Lo Fi was the one, but this has proven me wrong. Perfect for relaxation and study... thanks ever so much for curating this absolute goldmine of ambient goodness... i thought ambient music was mostly wafty nonsense... its never felt so good to be proven wrong ... thanks for all the amazing uploads. I was hooked from Takashi Kokubo and have recently been digging deeper... it's an amazing resource and an amazing collection. Thanks so much once again, with genuine heartfelt thanks from England!

Like the first light of dawn, this music opens the eyes to new promises and all the wonders of nature. Evocative of belief in the afterlife and powers beyond observation, these pieces pull the strings of the heart, draw nostalgia and awaken loves, skinned lives and sleepy watchmen !

There is no better music to send you to your dreamy, utopian world than 90s japanese new age ambient. Thank you for your work, I really appreciate it. Where can I search for music like this beside youtube?

You could always go on discogs and check out other releases by the same labels/artists etc., I'm afraid the particular label that released this album only has one entry though, and no other releases by either Mitome or Wakabayashi! Kind of strange. But try it with another record you like. P.S.: norsk?

Hey Abraham, I'm glad to hear the shares have helped. Tough question, I really enjoy all of the albums I share - otherwise I wouldn't share them - so it's hard to choose. I haven't done a great job or narrowing them down but in no particular order: John Elder - Antarctica Yoshio Ojima - Handsome Motohiko Hamase - Reminiscence Hongjun Lyu & Midori Takada - Legend of the Dragon Hiroshi Yoshimura - Wet Land Yoichiro Yoshikawa - Dream of Aku Aku Takashi Kokubo - Jamaica

It's a cliché and somewhat obvious to compare these Japanese early 90s ambient records to Nintendo games (duh), but anyway... instant Super Mario 64 underwater theme vibes from the intro for sure.
@Vingul4 жыл бұрын
@@dedecoVGMDJ I never played that one, but the soundtrack sounds good! I can see that you made that connection. I'll d/l it and check it out proper. P.S. I've come across some more or less obvious influences on Koji Kondo's Zelda soundtracks a couple of times, but can't recall them now. This one was pointed out in a comment I saw recently though: a few seconds into Hiroshi Sato's "This Boy" from 1985 (a cover of the Beatles tune). If you played Ocarina of Time you can't miss it.

You've posted some great albums, but this one is such utter dross, so ear wincingly bad it's almost comical. I could imagine this being played in an asylum, some administrator's, or doctor's lame attempt at keeping the patients quiet, over and over and over.....except someone will snap! The plastic sounds too much, driving them to murder everyone.....screaming.....JUST STOP THE MUSIC!!!
