I'm a Titans fan and this video reminds me so much of the Chris Johnson highlight video I went to watch after the Titans drafted him out of ECU.

Welcome to Steel City baby!!!! I had this video in my favorites since the end of the 2012 season, and it's crazy we actually picked him up. On a more downer note, I wish we had waited a round to get him. Actually, we could have had him possibly in the 5th. He'll be used like a Woodhead/McCluster. I remember calling the Martavis Bryant pick in the next round though when me and my brother were watching the draft. He has amazing upside, but still raw at the moment.

I came here after watching some De'Anthony Thomas highlights, and this was an entirely different spectrum of speed. There really was no comparison. Archer is much faster.

I'd say 95. I played Madden 04, Vick had 99 acceleration and that was top speed in about 2 strides.

I didn't even pay attention to college football until 3 years after watching NFL ball and it still didn't give me that much of a rise until the 2007 season when my LSU squad won it all. I watched every single game from the Virginia Tech beat down to the Ohio St. Pasting. The speed of the game seems way faster and the excitement from the crowds and everything. The NFL is getting there with the spread and hybrid RB/WR and TE/WR and now the dual threat QB are is arriving.
@kslice2511 жыл бұрын
Love this guy. He gets overshadowed by Austin and Thomas, and I'm not saying he's better, but he definitely fits the mold and belongs in the conversation. Can't wait to see all three of those guys in the NFL. The pro teams are finally starting to spread it out and make use of these RB/WR/KR freak athletes (see Percy Harvin, Randall Cobb) and I'm excited to see Austin, Thomas, and Archer take the torch and run with it. Makes for an exciting brand of football on Sunday.

He also had 6 Catches 81 yards. NIU built their gameplan around stopping him and still he was effective. They had a LB shadowing him at all times as well as over the top help from the safety's when he was route running.

This guy has a lot of potential, how you do at the combine pretty much shows where you will be drafted. If he had a chance to showcase his skills for a bigger name school, his name would be just as big as De'Anthony Thomas and Tavon Austin. Who ever gets him in the draft has a highlight reel waiting to happen, after the first round if hes still there I think any team should take a chance on him. Kent State needs use him more often.

All I have to say is 1) this kid is a beast. And 2) at 1:22, what a block from the QB
@nodice757111 жыл бұрын
everything enjoyed a healthy ats record betting on this kid & kent state last year. He may have had a rough game against N.Illinois but he had a few good receptions and Kent State still covered the spread :)

Long, easy, relaxed strides. (His strides almost look slow, like he's jogging, even at full speed.) But he's covering a huge amount of distance with each step! Even at only 5'8". His running style really reminds me of Deion Sanders. Dude's fast!
@GPC2511 жыл бұрын
He had great accolades in HS (while playing with Trey Burton). When the recruiting services list you as 5'6-155, it's tough to get a good look from the power conferences. I'm surprised the Sun Belt and C-USA passed him up, though.

If I was a GM in the NFL, I'd get him AND De'Anthony Thomas and play them both together at once in a variety of packages. Depending on the talent around them, it could be the greatest offensive attack in NFL history. Plus having them both deep to return kicks would be dynamic as well.

He's faster than the mythical "SEC speed."
@jamesring705711 жыл бұрын
OSUkid23 SEC speed refers to the defenders being faster than what most other conferences have; they aren't meant to be RB or WR fast, but fast enough to try and trip up the ball carrier. The SEC started a trend that has started to kill the spread offense in the major conferences with this tactic. Do your homework before giving people information.

Naw, this guy is more of a specialist. Austin is a super versatile wide receiver. Its to be determined if Archer is coming into the NFL as a WR or RB because his skill set is not complete. He's also kind of short. Austin is 2 or three inches taller than him. I think he will go in the later rounds, maybe not the seventh.

Recruiting is heavily based off of rankings, and as a 2-star recruit he's lucky to have been offered a scholarship especially since he's undersized. I'm not a fan of Rivals rankings, but it wasn't really his decision. I'm sure he wanted to go to a better school, but he chose Kent State because they were the best team out of the other teams that offered him a scholarship.

He is really good... Kinda like Cordarelle Patterson and Tavon Austin but he needs to bulk up a bit, because that little frame will take so much hits in the NFL (cause most of his damages are done when plays are perfectly blocked) He just needs to bulk (will still have the speed i.e Tavon Austin) and he'll do real damage in the NFL. Hope the vikes take a really good look at him the late rounds.

He might be a Day 2 steal. I don't see him being drafted early. Some team will probably take a flyer on him in the 4th or 5th round. SF has a lot of late-round draft picks and Ted Ginn Jr. likely won't be returning to SF, so they might use a pick on Archer, although I would rather see him in Gold & Blue and burning up the turf in STL.
