Proud to say I went to the same college as this kid. He's been severely underrated the past several seasons (we all knew his name before he ran the fastest time at the combine...we already knew he was one of the fastest in college football). Pretty sure he was an unrated(maybe 1-2 star) recruit coming out of high school and only got one D1 offer and that was from Kent State! Now he is a 3rd round pick..amazing story of overcoming the odds. Can't wait to see what he does at the next level.

There must be something in the water in Florida besides sharks. With Chris Johnson of Miami running a record time of 4.27 from 2011 at the NFL combine. Dri Archer from Venice Florida runs a 4.28 seconds at this years 2014 combine will most definitely land him an NFL contract. Good luck little big man on your NFL career.

3rd round to Steelers. Kind of a head scratcher. Game changing speed, can't doubt that, but still, with the need at corner/wideout, a change of pace back this high in the third when Pierre Desir/Martavis Bryant were there? Oh well, still liked our first 2 picks.

What should be celebrated about Dri Archer is that he's a smaller player breaking the stereotype that 'bigger is better' and that he came from a smaller university giving similar opportunities to like players. A lot of big time, big college players went bust in the pro's and a lot of people fail to realize that there is opportunity to be had at smaller universities. Everyone wants to be at Bama, USC, U of M and so forth, but many players get buried in the depth charts and never are afforded the opportunity to shine. Cream rises to the top no matter what school they play for. Plenty of pro football players went to small universities where they were able to play ball AND get their degrees. When opportunity knocks, players play and that can't be denied in any venue.

he is exactly built like tavon austin and desean jackson so i dont think size is an issue and if it is there just gonna move him from running back to slot
@dblevins40811 жыл бұрын
I agree there with you on the size but he doesn't have the receiving ability of either of those two. He probably will jump up before the 5th round but as loaded as this draft is it wouldn't be a shocker to me to see him in the 5th either
@theonlyexpress88510 жыл бұрын
Tristan Savage no not at all. Tavon is built much better than he is. This guy needs to put up atleast 10 more pounds of muscle to last and I'm sure he knows this too. Tavon is a lot smoother too. Another thing he needs to work on is his ball handling skills. sorry if it seems like im more or less hating, but I see him more as a Trindon Holliday type player if anything
