After quite a bit of experimenting with developing this film, I find HC110 Dilution E is probably the best for contrast and grain.

I decided to start developing B&W my self, so I got 6 rolls of this. I developed the first roll yesterday (Rodinal) and was awed to get a decent result, but I need wetting fluid before developing the next rool.

Nice!! I’m happy you’re digging the results! This film is a better value today than it was when I made this video. The prices of Kentmere haven’t gone up as much as others yet.

Hi Craig, just picked up 3 rolls of Kentmere to shoot in my Canon EOS 50e, which costs £12 to develop here the UK. By the way I've also just purchased a Canon EOS 500 with battery grip, and the Sigma S7 with 2 Sigma Lenses, I think I'll be using the 50e to shoot this film, I'll let you know how I get on...all the very best for the New Year, looking forward to some more great content over the coming 12 months, Happy New Year 2021...

I had very pleasing results using Ilford DD-X I found it challenging to print in the darkroom, but with perseverance this can offer a different feel and nice textures - a nice counterpoint to Fomapan 400.

Maybe I'll have to give DD-X a try one of these days. I haven't shot much of Kentmere since making this video but with film prices continuing to rise I might shoot it more.

@@CraigBergonzoni Having just spent an evening in the darkroom again striving to make the Kentmere work - I found that the images shot with yellow/orange filters were best - also the contrast filters worked differently to my usual films (FP4/HP5) every image that worked for me was very high contrast and it coped really well, but I think it is the kind of film where you really need to pick your subject to suit it... Picks out details in metal very nicely. Not something to buy in bulk, but a few 24 exp rolls on a sunny winters day!

I picked up 3 rolls of Kentmere ISO 100 36 exposure at $4.95 each, 4 rolls of Arista 100 ISO 36 exposure at $4.49 each, and 4 rolls of Fomapan ISO 100 at $4.95 each from B&H Photo. Since the total was 50.77 they paid the state sales tax and 2 day shipping. Just thought I would give this film a try since it's cheap. I do have a roll of Iford FP4 Plus 100 ISO 36 exposure I bought from Amazon but since I shot Iford before I want to give the other rolls a try first. My Canon EOS film cameras will get some usage. Thanks for the video!

Actually I get very good results (especially for scanning) using XTOL 1:1
