Unfortunately, that particular model has a significant flaw which we saw in the video: if you don't pull the lever down forcefully enough, it fails to eject. A friend of mine has one and he says every time he takes it to the range, the back of his fingers end up bruised. Black Aces makes a modern lever-action 12-gauge that doesn't seem to have this problem, according to a review I read.

One thing with those shotguns. The Winchester 1887 was made for the shotshells of its day. The shotshells were slightly shorter than today's shells, and were paper hulled. The combination of a slightly longer shell, and a more rigid hull, can cause issues with ejection. Couldn't tell if that was the issue you were having, but that's what I know about the gun.

According to my friend who has one and several online reviews, the solution is to pull the lever down harder, giving the ejector more force. In my friend's case, he says this leads to bruising the backs of his fingers. Me, I'd just buy a Black Aces lever shotgun or something.

It should be doable, but I guess it takes a lot of practice. Keep in mind, that both Arnie & Linda Hamilton did extensive weapons training for T2.

It wouldn't work with this one because the shell ejects out of the top, so a new shell wouldn't be picked up on the swing.
