I would toss my 1st marriage into the same category! " Complete and total, nightmare." I've got the Rox risers that do the up and back thing on the stock bars (7/8s). I'm doing this on a café where things are even tighter all up around the head tube - when all I'm trying to do is clip the zip ties that hold the cables and wires without the nightmare of removing the tank! Thanks for your informative and entertaining buddy! Hope you're still enjoying yours!

I turned my existing risers to get the handle bars 3/4 of an inch closer to me. That was all I needed. Put a small rack and backrest on too. Got 18,000 on my 2018 Z900RS. Glad to hear that it did well on the trip. I have done 1,000 miles in 24 hours before. But you don't enjoy the ride unless the bike is comfortable.

Again, I bet the sheepskin feels fantastic and you admit it's an eyesore. Just hope you don't drive past any herds giving you dirty looks on your travels, heh. I saw a cowl mod on another channel that seemed to work better with regards to buffeting and looked great. Yours was a pretty good attempt to keep with the yellow and green and looked better than the cafe cowl too, IMO. I'm glad the risers have increased your comfort and definitely are needed to properly fit the ride to the rider. I can post the link if you want to the other channel but wanted to ask before going ahead. The guy, in another video did a seat mod I wasn't wild about and I'm not sure he was either. I have the 2019 version ( probably the same) in the same colour. Your experiences shared here are very much appreciated. Pyramid products are generally good and it's disappointing to see their quality control take a dive. That's the trouble with a screen as they compress the air in front and release the pressure off the edges. Hence the buffeting which can only be pushed out beyond the rider by increasing it's size. The only really effective screens are just too fugly. Unless of course you have streamliner fairings fitted. I ride without a screen so as to be in "clean air". A 1000 mile ride here in the UK would have to be somewhat circular and a 2000 mile trip doubly so ;0) Good humoured, informative video, have a big ol' "like".

The risers work for you well it seems, I am in my 50s so do feel your discomfort... I like the sheepskin (especially as you can remove it to clean etc) sod the haters, any ride over a few hundred miles and you need any help. The windscreen Blue Marble Rider fitted was a japanese Comet made one, it looked more awkward to fit (or you made it look easy) and was of a slightly different profile, bit wider/bulbous? I really like both of yours and when I get one of these bikes I am getting a cockpit fairing, though I don't want low bars so no cafe racer. I like the fact you bought the bike you love and mod to fit rather than a bike to suit a role, maybe that says more of me as well... All best from North Yorkshire, England. 👍🖖💯

I need to talk about this on a video, I considered the Versys but it seemed high and heavy compared to the Z900, also it cost alot of money to buy a new bike so I wanted one that I liked the best, the biggest issue seems to be the add on for traveling, and the deal with that is, if traveling doesn't work out for me I can take that stuff off and still have an awesome bike. I understand why many people are thinking this and I thought about it alot before buying. Hope this helps, thank you for watching!

Enjoying these videos as personally my riding era was the 70’s and 80’s and the Z900RS is just a gorgeous bike. Modern styling sucks in my eyes for many bikes. I have been riding since 1969 and have "butchered" every bike I have owned. No motorcycle is manufactured that will fit everyone and their taste. You buy the bike that fits your desires and then modify what doesn't quite meet your desires. The ergonomics of fitting a motorcycle to you is very important for comfort AND safety. But the supreme satisfaction one receives every time they ride on a bike that they have successfully modified to fit them is one that is so satisfying. Nice work KY. One question, do the sheepskin covers really make it more comfy on the butt on long rides? I need something for rides longer that 2 hours on my 1100 Virago. I would like to have a new Z900Rs and fit it with a fairing more like the cafe fairing on the Z900RS Cafe. That fairing, in my estimation, more accurately displays the retro style of the 1970's, which the bike was meant to display. But, and this is important, this is your bike, make it fit your view and comfort level and enjoy the bike as you want. Safe and happy riding. And keep the videos coming. Are you going to get an ECU flash?
@kentuckyyankee4 жыл бұрын
@@seniorrider9337 Thanks! I probably won't get the ecm flashed, the fairing although I love the way it looks doesn't work for me because of the buffeting, In my opinion the sheepskin makes a big difference, in hot and cold weather, amazing to me .

No arguments from me, the sheep skin is definitely ugly but as long as you are comfortable who gives a crap. It doesn't do you any good to have a bike you can't ride more than 10 miles.
