Love this truck! Especially the color! What blue is that? Great spec and all. Truck look great with the side fairings and fenders. All in all a great truck. Really like the T680. If I was spec'n it for me I'd put the Nav Plus, other than that I like how it's spec'd. Thanks for posting

On KWS disc brakes are installed (there is a frame on the frame). I saw them only on KWS. How do they behave for heavy trucks? Is there a disc brake system for other brands?

Disc brakes are common on heavy trucks now. However some trucks are ordered with drum due to lower cost.

I drive a t680 with 500 paccar. I find the paccar vibrates alot when pulling heavy. Ive driven 10 or more different t680s in our company. They all do it. 2016s 2017s 2018s n the 2019s we just got. All the same issue. The side fairings rattle. The column covers rattle. The dash rattles. Drives me nutz.... if paccar works out the vibrations it would be a great truck.

Just curious as an outsider - When I just went on the kenworth website there is no mention of the X15? Is it possible to get a 680 with a X15? I noticed they don't mention the x15 on the 880 either but our youtube friend sergi has a X15 in his 2017 T880. Curious whats with hiding the X15 option or is it no longer a option?

Hi Chuck. Detroit engines have not been available or offered since 2002/2003 ish. The parent company for FLD and W Star (Dialmer) owns Detroit and doesn’t sell it to anyone else anymore.

You dont want a cumapart. My 2016 t800 went 450 000kms on 3 550 cummins. They all blew up hard. I gave up that truck to avoid goin broke from down time. That cummins was a real piece of shit. Now i run a t680 with a paccar. Its not as powerful but our fleet is having good luck with them

Ernie Desjardins had very good luck with Cummins. Over a million miles on Int eagle with 1 overhead done. Pro star with Cummins had 2 fuel pumps installed. No engine issues. Keep it serviced and don’t ride wide open all the time it’ll take care of you. Think I’m going to try the automatic next. One of our trucks is getting 7.8-7.9 with it.

You have the option of a flat top / mid roof in a 40", 52" or 76" bunk. You can get a tall sleeper in a 76" bunk. There isn't a standard size, its up do you want you want.

I wander, kenworth build the T610 for the Australian market, however it is essentially a T680 with a short sleeper and tall hood. Are there any 610's actually in the USA?

Wait a min my w900L has the ag400 suspension but I have 8 air bags this one only has 4?. Can a driver get the studio sleeper in the t680 like they can get it in the t660,t800 and the w900L?

The 4 bag is called “AG400L” the 8 bag is AG400. The studio sleeper is only available on the 1.9 meter cabs not the 2.1 (t680/t880/w990)

Why did they quit putting stacks on big trucks? I thought that was to get the carbon monoxide above the sleeper. Now it looks like the exhaust can get in the truck with you if you have to idle your truck. Just curious about this.

The exhaust is now clean due to the new emissions regulations. However it still isn’t recommended to idle the truck.

What about driver safety? How many airbags you have? What driver's safety feature are. Because most trucks have only seat belt and one air bag, that's poor.

Andy The Kenworth Guy but its insane how nobody want to put air bags for drivers head (besides driver window and above windshield), and driver's knees. I mean if you seen some cars have up to 10 airbags but those trucks have only one 🤔😐 if you look european truck, they have much much more options. Even european volvo going couple generation forward compared to us volvo

We had a couple immagrants hit one of our volvo vn630 head on. He had a air bag. The air bag didnt help 1 bit. My friend stan lost his life. So did the 2 in the 7 star truck. The only way to live in a truck is to not crash... copy

That's when the mileage savings ain't as critical and i can go for personal taste...flattop 379 pete...er 389 now or similar kw....T680 are really nice inside...and look ok only other truck i even like is a new mack...new freightliners are absolutely horrible looking and built cheaper than a yugo. Paccar needs more powertrain choices...i wouldn't take another red top for free!! need a 15 liter paccar mx...i won't buy anything under 550hp/1850TQ....and that's at the bare minimum

Andy The Kenworth Guy the big thing for me with typical 47 year old lower back, knees and arthritis is idiot's like volvo putting the fridge on the floor...after a hard day last thing i wanna do is wind down in pain grabbing dinner or a beverage out the fridge before sleeping....paccar seems to understand this....touches like the rubbers on sliding doors are awesome too...lot of trucks rattle a lot after 6 months...little stuff like this means a lot when you live in it

I noticed that the featured truck is equipped with pavement facing exhaust rather than the more usual above the roof sky facing exhaust. Given that fumes from any internal combustion engine are unpleasant and unsafe, why would a purchaser/manufacturer offer the pavement facing option? Perhaps there is a practical application that escapes me. Thanks and cheers.

Hi Leigh. With the near zero emissions from the tailpipe it is much cleaner and safer. Also, most trucks are required to shut off while loading / unloading and they come equipped with aux heater or a/c unit to keep the cab comfortable while having the truck shut off. 2023 updates? Digital dash 👎, HVAC that just doesn't work and requires constant fiddleling 👎, insulation that's non-existent making for a noisy cab 👎, still no full size mattress... for $200k I'd expect better.
