KENWORTH T800 & T800H LOWBED A CAT 320D FM & HYUNDAI HX3030 LL

Two beautiful Kenworth trucks lowbed a 2016 CAT 320D FM & HYUNDAI HX3030 LL at the end of the 2016 Interior Logging Association Conference and Trade Show held in Vernon, British Columbia, from May 6-8, 2016.
I apologize for the video being overly dark. The incoming storm clouds played havoc with the camera's light censor. It's too bad because these trucks deserve better lighting.

Sorry for the delayed reply. First off, thanks for watching this video often. They’re some of my favourite trucks too! Beautiful rigs! (Just wish the sun cooperated moore in this video) Secondly, it would be great to interview one of these guys (truck tour) but honestly that won’t be happening. The trucks were filmed in 2016 and I’ve only come across the T800H once, the T800 twice since 2016. Both based in other cities. If I ever get another chance to film either truck I’ll definitely do a full video tour. Thanks for watching. Greatly appreciate your viewership.🙏😎

Filming these two gorgeous Kenworth's was enjoyable. However, whenever I watch the video I become angry with myself. Cloud cover suddenly moved in -- the dark skies played havoc with the camera's light sensor. Matters worsened when filming commenced towards the sun. Everything's dark due to the aforementioned issues. I wish the clouds had stayed away until loading was completed. Hindsight is always 20/20. Even though I harp about its darkness this video is a favourite of mine, too. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated.

When I went to trucking school in 2008, our school had a brand new T800 and when we finally got our CDL's and got to do our 3 weeks of actually road driving, I was the first one to drive it. Loved the dash and sloped hood. I'm not sure of how many gears but it might have been a 9 or 10 speed.

T800’s are definitely one the better Class 8 trucks to educate yourself on due to its sloped engine hood. Great visibility! I’m certain the Trucking School purchased a KW T8 for that very reason. Visibility! Not so imposing to new truckers. Thanks for watching the video!🙏👍

@@coolbigrigs We also had a cabover, a Mack daycab and an old FL120, I believe. there were 4 trucks, 8 students and two instructors. We would convoy around Central Florida for 4 days a week for 3 weeks with 2 students in each truck and the instructors in trucks 2 and 4. The cabover was "fun" to drive. A short shifter and the front wheels behind the driver :)

I have a 2013 standard t800 and love the look of a high hood is that interchangeable with the sloped hood???

I have read that the hoods are interchangeable. However, the T800H runs a taller radiator. If you don't switch radiators and related components some custom fabrication needs done to block airflow around and over the lower T800 radiator. The tougher issue might be locating a T800H hood as there are fewer T800H's than T800's out there. Hope this works out as the high hood looks great! Thanks for watching!

I wonder how often you need to buy a new trailer carrying this kind of equipment? I also wonder if Landstar offers these kinds of loads if you were to own a low deck trailer?

If the trailer is respected and maintained it will last a decade or two. Even greater. Technology advances yearly. It's those new advances that sells trailers. Lowbeds sold within the last 5 years will last a long time.

Sorry Terrill, offhand I haven’t the answer to your first question. What I can answer is that 11 axles allows (depending on the axle configuration & axle spread) a max legal weight of 91,000kg (200,000 lbs) and a maximum permit weight of 111,000 kg (244,000 lbs), That’s rough and dirty. I truly apologize for the delayed reply. Life throws curve balls. The H hood was discontinued. However, Kenworth others other high hood spec trucks which provide exceptional cooling. Advancements are always being made - the T800 heavy spec day cab is an example. For really good information I recommend you follow “The Kenworth Guy” on KZbin. He has all the answers. Hello! No, this is not a standard tag axle attached to the tractor. It's a "single axle unit," called a "Jeep," that is of its own. A Jeep easily attaches to the tractor's fifth wheel and the trailer's kingpin. Jeep's allow tractor-trailer units to haul more weight like tag axles. Except jeeps are easily removable. For a closeup of a jeep, Google "heavy haul jeep." A photo will help you understand more clearly. I'm very poor at describing things. LOL. Thanks for watching the video! Sorry, Ran Mo, for missing this question. I don't know this Jeep's model nor length. There are many Jeep manufacturers on the Internet -- their sites have all the info needed. Some lowbed and jeep manufacturers are Aspen, Peerless, Pacesetter, K-Line, Knight and many more. Anyone of those will have what you need. Hope you find what you need. Sorry again for the delay.

What's the difference between a T800H and a C500?... The brown truck is what most of us would call a C500.....

The brown Kenworth is a T800H (H for "high" hood.) The high hood was a T800 option but Kenworth recently iliminated it. T800's (And T880's) are highway tractors with fiberglass hood and fenders that are used off-road for logging and construction here in British Columbia. But they cannot withstand the true meaning of off-road. This is where the KW C500 comes in. C500's are purposely designed for off-road, built with metal flat fenders and hoods (Optional fiberglass hood), increased height, beefier suspension and cooling to withstand off-road abuse. The T800H has a similar appearance to a C500, but it cannot match the C500 for off-road durability and capability. Thanks for watching the video.

All I can say, """ Murray Lowboy trailers. """ not sure from what century these aspens are from, if you want to save time, a lot of time, get your self a Murray 16 tire trailer and 16 tire Jeep, these two shovels could be loaded in about 5 minutes, right over the back. Murray trailers are by far best in the business, Strongest Built. nice trucks.
