Conviction for murder is a complex process; 3 aspects must be tabled, body of the victim (for postmortem to establish cause of death), murder weapon (for DNA testing/forensic examination etc) and a confession from the murderer. Of course there's all the other evidence like witnesses statements, perpetrator identification etc to help solve a case
