Yeah, I don't recall Tyson saying that, but I'm not a high-level Tyson historian on what he has said and hasn't. Rocky was a great fighter and there is a lot to learn from him. I would say though that his style while being a short fighter style is far different from Tyson's. Rocky actually implements a whole lot of things that I talk about in this video! And the reason why I brought up Tyson in this video is because I don't see guys in the gym trying to mimic Marciano too much but I do see people trying to mimic Tyson a lot!

So i have TWO questions! Did the DOC ever work with Muhammad Ali during his fight with floyd patterson? Ever since the first Pekaboo style that i knew since 1965 when Muhammad Ali had his first pro fight. It has been tough, however, to beat unless opponents move outside a lot, multi faint, jab, and upercut. I notice you have the best defenses, especially for when its upper cut city, because i see a lot of fighters relying on just head movement in the pocket. So Q2: Do you cover more on upper cut defense for short and tall fighters? I can't get enough of your logical videos, and i appreciate the energy! 😶

when someone goes for a strong lead hook we should jab strong? I have this problem of moving out to my right and someone usually goes strong lead hook to my body and I’m not sure what to throw back. or just block?
@ChristianOchoa-uj5qp4 ай бұрын
If you got that kind of timing you could put a jab or you could get underneath it and shoot a uppercut hookish punch and get it n there before he gets his defense back. But I would recommend the most simple skills. One step out of range hands up ... And you can shoot the right hand over it. A lil harder but very possible. Go under it with a low squat your elbow blocking your body open hand blocking your face knuckles out, and while taking a small step to your right pushing off your left foot and score with right hand over the hook.
@coachKeithKeppner4 ай бұрын
The answer may be super basic and easy, but there are a few variables that are important. Do you have video or anything like that of you Sparring? But if they are stepping in from long range for that hook to the body then the jab would be a fine punch or just block it with the elbow and fire off a couple shots and go back to boxing...

@@coachKeithKeppner I agree only if u use the same arguments against Holyfield(apart from 4 years laid off Tyson he lost to every big name in the 90s) Lennox who got ko’d by Rahman and MCall( their rematches are irrelevant he literally forced mcCall out of rehab) and Tyson was done with boxing before their fight even happend. Also you using Joe Louis v Marciano as if its COMPARABLE to Holmes v Tyson is just being a hater. Joe never fought again afterwards, Larry went on 4 years later to beat RAY MERCER, went the full distance with Holyfield and he didn’t get ko’d before or after the Tyson fight. Mike does not have a strong case to be the greatest, his resume and longevity are outgunned by people like Ali, Foreman, Holyfield,… But denying that 85-89 Tyson could make a case of being the baddest fighter ever is just hating and wanting to be different. Love the video btw and i do agree imitating Tyson(or any fighter) is a bad idea.
