Kern River Fishing Report - How's the fishing?

I was going to ask a question about fishing Upper Kern in Nov/Dec but you answered it! It was also nice to meet you this past weekend. I threw that popper fly at Lake Isabella but didn't catch anything - I'll be back to try again.

I love these reports! I'm planning on going up there soon. When is it the coldest for kernville? I was maybe going 1st week of December

Thanks for the reply! January and February have the coldest water temps on the upper Kern.

Is this real recent? I watched a new report that River Kern has dried up.

Yes it is! The area in Bakersfield by the 99 freeway dries ip sometimes. This is about 70 miles up river from there near the town of Kernville. The Kern River is 165 miles long.
