Not for me. Kkb reinforces the idea that I'm less happy than people who produce stuff like this, and that I probably will be this way forever. It scare me, I'm getting older and more and more time goes by, and I try to practice gratitude and self-improvement, work hard and save money. Yet happiness eludes me and I go to bed alone.

Making meaningful friendships is the main thing but there’s plenty of smaller things that will help (like regular exercise, keeping to a consistent sleep schedule, good hygiene, a clean living environment, face to face socialisation, and a rewarding [preferably fairly cheap] hobby) That said, covid is currently posing a problem to many of those but it’s important to make an effort anyway.

How they were able to abandon their previous bubblegum dance pop genre and pay homage to a more indie-style sound (akin to the mid oughts), WITHOUT sounding too contrived is WAY beyond me. Even Bonito Generation had allusions to depression and was a little unsettling to me. I mean, some songs were just fun pop songs like "Heard a Song", but others just felt too peppy. "Waking Up" and "Trampoline" are both pushing back at depressive thoughts. They feel like attempts to will depression away by being as exuberant and hopeful as possible, to the point of feeling almost manic. "Try Me" feels that way to me as well, but it's not explicitly stated in it. I feel like making a list of your positive qualities is a common way to try to overcome doubt and negativity that come along with depressive thoughts.
