I bet Kerry is feeling like you when you talk to a guy who has a splat of mustard on his face...and you are trying to politely direct the interaction towards that fact...but after a while just give up and act as if everything ist as it is supposed to be.

The evening before we went to a King, Destruction and Motörhead Show ('88) we been at KFC, i made a cross out of chicken bones. 😂 Next day I threw it on the stage, King saw it - and put it around his neck!! A few weeks later, new Metalhammer magazine had a huge poster of King - with my little present attached to his well known large Cross with his mic on it! I still have that poster. Dang, i felt honored! 😂🤘 edit : I'm talkin KD, not KFK! Saw Slayer live when KfK still had hair! ...and his giant bracelet with like a ton of nails on it! 😂👍 (South of heaven Tour) I miss them all... 🤘

Quotes from famous musician and High ranking Church of Satan member and very close friend to Anton LaVey - King Diamond "Satanism is about the Powers of the Unknown. I have had hundreds of strange supernatural experiences with the occult, the other side, the beyond, whatever you want to call it that proves there is a spiritual world that can cross over into our world. Satanism is a life philosophy so within it you can have your own religion, any religion you want. Or take from various religions or your own whatever makes you happy. I have my own beliefs and Religiously Satan on a spiritual level stands for the Powers of Darkness, the Powers of the Unknown which are always all around us at all times. This is the best way to talk about these Spirits and Powers. Not a god or a devil as both of them are christian god's and that has nothing to do with Satanism. Of course there are different types of satanism. And I never wear gold as that is not healthy for you! Must need something bad and use that during ritual then you might be able to get help from these powers I believe are all around us. But that is only if they like you. I do not believe in the two christians beings god or the Devil, I believe in the Powers of the Unknown, Powers of Darkness. I have done Satanic Rituals and have seen and heard spirits. Some people like to call "Them" God or the Devil or whatever, but I do not believe there is all one good and one all bad power. I believe there are many, many different Spirits and Powers that exist and that they are not good or evil, like humans they have both inside of them and I always treat them with the highest amount of respect and feel that respect returned by Them. It is massive mutual respect. Not Power, but Powers, Big difference. I believe we are one and the same me and these Unknown Forces. You really have to respect them for the incredible power they have. I believe they come to those who they feel can handle it and who will be faithful believers." In the song "Welcome Princess of Hell" you hear me singing to these spirits and powers and they sing back to me. They came to me to let me know they are here for me on my journey and that they are behind me and that they wish me good luck so I see them as my protectors almost like guardian angels. We all live several lives so that our powers/souls can grow in order to reach a higher plane and join with something greater. Our powers live in a human shell several times that will enable us to go on to a new life form a higher plane of being or join one day with a larger greater force. But 99 percent of the population live by the Satanic Philosophy whether they know it or not. As Anton LaVey even told me that Satanism is simply a life philosophy and NOT a religion. Satanism is basically Humanism. Satanism is based on logic and things that are proven which is why it could never be a religion as religion is based on things that cannot be proven. Personally I do not use electrical lighting at home and on my Satanic Altar or in the studio when I record vocals, only black candles as electrical lighting drives away the spirits and I love having them near me. People who see Satanism from the Christian view point are not treating these powers with respect and that is very dangerous. I once actually summoned a spirit in order to prove they are real to a girl who doubted and Satan came. In Satanism you are your own God. LaVey felt and I agree that we are all individuals born with different needs and views and so he felt everyone should make up their own mind about what to believe in spiritually if anything at all which is why he left a huge void in the Satanic Bible when it came to spirituality or any kind of religious beliefs and so within the Satanic Philosophy a person can still be a Christian if that fulfills their spiritual needs. Satan also means the Opposite, Inverted, Reversed which is why we wear the Satanic crosses and pentagrams. Satan means the opposite of religion. Satanism is living out your feelings and instincts without feeling it is a sin, enjoy yourself while you are here now while you can and have your own individual beliefs. One thing I consider almost mandatory though is believing there are powers around us. And you can use these powers to help yourself or those you care about. Or throw these powers at people in a negative way. I am not religious at all but you can say I am spiritual due to my experiences and beliefs. The Satanic bible is not really a bible because a bible is for religion so it should be called a book of philosophy instead. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. When people see the word ‘Satan’ they see only negative. Satan is not only bad, to me. It represents both sides of everything. I don’t believe in the Christian devil. “Christianity has both God and the devil. I believe there is neither of these two. I believe in the powers of the unknown, which I have experienced many times. I know that rituals work. I don’t do them often because you can easily misuse them. They will get back at you if you don’t respect them. Rituals can channel the forces that surround us all the time but I respect the powers and will not abuse them in any way. The Satanic Bible is 70 percent Philosophy and 30 percent magic. Satan is the power of the universe. Satan to me is the Powers of Darkness, not a man with horns. Some people think Satanism is what the Christian church portrays it to be. If you are as bad and as evil as you can be and you think that’s Satanism then you have become part of the Christian religion. That is Christian Satanism which is not what I am about at all.

28 күн бұрын
I saw Mercyful Fate and Slayer in Portland in '84 (age 12). This was my first knowledge of Mercyful Fate. That gig changed my life. I was already a guitar player, and from that show I knew what my future had to be like. Several bands/albums later, I would run into King and Hank Sherman, Michael Denner, and Timmy G, over the years and have some great times/conversations. In 2010, while in Boise at a Volbeat/Hell Yeah gig, I look up on stage, and Hank is playing guitar with Volbeat...Makes sence. They needed a guitarist and they're all from Denmark, right? I could not believe it lol. After the show, Hank and I drank and talked for hours about Mercyful Fate and his experience in the states in '84 which was the first time he'd been here, and just happened to play my home town. It was/is one of the best candid conversations I've had with another musician, sharing experiences and stories in a "Pool o' Booze". I have several King stories from over the years that began in '84, and fortunately continue to this day. Random meetings in different states/countries where we both had no idea the other was currently in. I still have the huge Abigail concert poster from '87/'88 that King signed with his elaborate autograph wishing me and the band well. True/Genuine/Authentic gentleman he certainly is! Over the last couple of decades, I've landed in Arizona, and of course King is in Texas. However, a lot of metal's elite have homes here, and it's not uncommon to run into them, and to turn around and bump into King as well. Great memories, and more to come.

I've met both of these guys and they are some of the coolest people on earth, especially King Diamond. When I met him he was the most polite, articulate and inviting person. He loves what he does. He appreciates the fans and will take all the time in the world to answer your questions. Seeing Slayer for the first time at The Big 4 concert with Anthrax, Megadeth and Metallica and that was a real treat and then a few years later seeing them up close and personal on Motorhead's Motorboat Cruise was even more amazing, but I remember seeing Mercyful Fate years before when In The Shadows was released. It was a small intimate crowd in a tiny venue. It was one of my favorite shows ever.

I saw King Diamond at Tuxedo Junction in Connecticut, back in the mid 90's. I was right up at the stage! He reached out and shook my hand multiple times! Abigail is one of my favorite albums of all time. If I was only able to listen to one album for the rest of my life, it would be Abigail, hands down! I would love to get that chance with Slayer!

This is how I got into King Diamond and Mercyful Fate myself I saw a picture of him in a rock magazine and it blew my mind I had to hear him. I bought Fatal Portrait and was blown away. Then when I heard Melissa and Don't Break the Oath by Mercyful Fate that was it, I have been a fan ever since. There is supposedly a new cd coming from Mercyful Fate with at least four of the orginal members I know I cannot wait to hear it. Cool interviews. Stay heavy. \m/

I was at Replay Records in Stockton CA, 1995 when I found "Don't Break the Oath." I had never heard of Mercyful Fate before then but the album looked amazing. I checked the back and saw the ere black and white photos of the band, noticed they had two lead guitarists and just felt that I had found something special.

Hahah, my first concert was Donnie & Marie Osmond. I. do. not. lie. Parents took the family to their concert. I was hooked to be a musician after that. Immediately picked up a guitar and went from there. But after that? Yeah, that's when I discovered Iron Maiden (twice - front row once and also my favorite band of all time), KISS (band that got me into hard rock metal in the 70's after my parents bought be Gene Simmons' solo album while I was in 2nd grade - turn 50 in a few months), Exodus (met Gary Holt and got his autograph), Prong, King Diamond (an icon - own pretty much everything he's done), Flotsam & Jetsam, Alice Cooper (multiple times), Metallica (3x), Trouble (with King Diamond on tour), Yngwie Malmsteen, so many others I can't even remember. Oh, here come a few more - Billy Joel (favorite songwriter pretty much ever). Buddy Guy (blues idol of mine) - twice. Weird Al Yankovic (lol, yup, twice - own vinyl from youth). Heh - Rick Springfield (more lol's, twice - own vinyl from youth). King Crimson (OMG, incredible). Yeah... you need to spread out, investigate all music. Listen to everything, people.

Today's metal (black, speed, death, progressive, etc.) is a result of the seeds these 2 fathers of metal sowed. Respect. 1st metal concert. Slayer and overkill November 18-1986. A skating rink that had shows on the weekend. Reign in blood tour. Close enough to smell their metal . 22 yr old Jeff H. Was 2 arms length away and ripping note for note identical to the album. Most wicked metal riffs to this day. RIP Jeff. King D. Owns. I'm Audi.

King diamond with mercyful fate were one of the pioneers of black metal, along with venom, hellhammer/Celtic Frost, and bathory! I thought Slayer was black metal until I found out that they were considered dark thrash metal! Slayer is one of the big four thrash metal bands that started it all in America and the only one of the big four who is considered dark thrash because of their dark lyrics!!!!

All of us older metal heads that were born in the sixties grew up the same way searching record stores talking to other friends maybe there was a ban they knew about from an older brother and and which source out that music or Gerber their house and listened to it and we would just be immersed in it. I just saw king back-to-back nights in philly and Baltimore the philly show was my birthday couldn't of asked for a better birthday to turn 56 years old saw the last slayer tore at the wrapping up on now they were outstanding and even when they all go away I will still be listening to their music and that's what's most important.
