Kerry Von Erich vs. Ric Flair 30 Years Later

We're pretty much the same age and I remember that match like it was yesterday. Despite all of the tragedies that led up to it, and that would follow in the years to come, it's still an amazing moment and the most emotionally charged match I've ever seen.

My first Wrestling match was David Von Erich and Harley Race two out of three falls at the Kiel Auditorium in St Louis MO. I was 14 at the time and it was fun for sure in 1981

I miss David von Erich and Kerry von Erich Kerry von Erich was one of my favorite wrestlers I just wish they would have got help all these you know Devin Eric boys you know they they got into some s*** and they got out of control you know and now remember Fritz saying please Lord don't take any more of my children I feel for French he's up there with his sons all his sons that passed away Kerry von Erich is one of my favorite wrestlers I just wish she would have gotten him more help for his drug problem people got problems and they got issues and we shouldn't be so quick to judge them

I saw the Kerry-Flair match on video. Thought he would get more shots to become world champion. Certainly saddened by his death. He was great when he was wrestling. He certainly was not forgotten. I actually met Kerry's wife and daughter here in NYC back in March 2018.

My fav match from the 80’s. If David van Erich had lived, World class would’ve been the flagship of the NWA, not JCP. Unfortunately, Fritz didn’t want to expand beyond Dallas.

WCCW was way is still is way better than WWF or WWE, WCCW had bigger ratings than WWF back in 1984.

I wish I'd been around to see it! I was born in '82, so didn't really get into any form of pro wrestling until late '91 and that was WCW...someone loaned me a WWF video of Summerslam 1990 and of course, Kerry Von Erich was on the bill as the Texas Tornado vs Mr Perfect. That was my first sighting of Kerry in action and Hennig was the Intercontinental champion and obviously the better wrestler, at that time. I rooted for the underdogs back then (and still do today!), so when Kerry put the claw on Hennig and then used the discus punch, got the 1-2-3...I went nuts! Little did I know the problems that Kerry was going through, behind the scenes...that was just one of my favorite wrestling moments as a kid. I wish I could have seen him in his prime
