Which One to Get? UT61E+ and AN870 Side-by-Side

This is a good comparison of these two multimeters, however I believe it's very important to note that the UNI-T UT61E+ costs around 80€ whereas the ANENG AN870 costs 26€, or about 1/3 as much as the UNI-T. So they are essentially for different budgets. Also for some reason UNI-T decided to not include a Temperature measurement function in the UT61E+. If one needs to measure temperatures then the ANENG AN870 is a better choice.

Set voltage on 1 volt or so, and then rise or down by 1 mV to see more realistic result.

@@jtveg My device is completly out of specs in some ranges (not talking about the hole in the mV-Range). The jacks for the leads are very lose (as shown in the video). For comparision the Habotest HT118 is a much better low cost DMM.

Qual a diferença? E pq escolheu o 61E? Estava pesquisando entre Units Anengs e outros.. Mas ainda n me decidi. Estava pensando em comprar 1 digital e 1 analógico (pensei na Proskit mas se conhecer alguma marca chinesa boa.. pode indicar tb).

@@recuperacaorecuperacao7329 olha, o 61E+ é espetacular, eu escolhi ele porque a diferença de preço é pequena, então investi num equipamento top de linha. O problema é que pra mim sobrou equipamento de tão completo que ele é e devido ao meu pouco uso. Então estou com uma Ferrari nas mãos e usando pouco. Eu tenho um analogico também da Minipa, é outro equipamento que eu adoro, muito muito bom, e tem um preço bem bacana aqui no Brasil.

I just measured a 22 mF capacitor on the AN870 no issues. I think the spec sheet might be wrong, wonder what the maximum really is. Perhaps I'm using a newer revision device.

I have two of original UT61E's. For the $70 price they are quite good. The nice part is the DC voltage is very easy to calibrate via internal pot adjustment. I bought a AN870 not expecting much but surprised its accuracy actually met the 0.05% spec. However, it varies a lot with relatively small environmental temp changes At 90 degs F it went to 0.14% accuracy.

As an absolute beginner which one would best, Aneng AN870, Uni-T UT61C, Uni-T UT61E, Uni-T UT61E+ or something else? I will be using the multimeter for hobby and self learning. Well, none of these meter meters warn you if you have the leads in the wrong sockets for the current measurement (e.g. trying to measure voltage while your leads are in for current measurements) If that's what concerns you you might want to consider something like the Kaiweets HT118A I reviewed a while back kzbin.info/www/bejne/eanScqikaayFopo. IMO though, I'd get something cheap but useable (like an Aneng AN8008 or 8009) that way you won't feel bad if you damage it and you can always get better ones down the road after you have determined what features are most important to you. You may also want to start with circuits low voltages/low current for your own safety.

I have a 61e+ and a few aneng/zoyi meters and it's really night and day. The aneng is just another cheapy... and HT118 is a better choice for that price range. the Uni-T is a proper meter, everything works as advertised, it's quick and reliable, and there is some input protection. I really think this video could have benefited from just putting them side by side without the covers on(your existing teardowns are great, so you've got the content already). I saw that Aneng is selling a meter(SZ305) that has no fuse now (even worse, it says it's fused), so I'm done with them personally.

I got An870 (zotek zt219) for around $25, very good meter for the price I'd say. UT61e+ currently is still too expensive that you'd be better off with trusty japanese brand (sanwa, kyoritsu, hioki, etc.) or even 2nd hand namebrand like fluke/agilent. I do have older UT61e, they drift easily quite a lot, OTOH it's pretty easy to readjust them with their trimpot. You probably needs to do that on monthly basis. ZT219/AN870 & UT61e+ IIRC are electronically calibrated, ie. no trimpots to drift. Compared their calibration is pretty in check to my fluke 287/289, dunno about long term drift yet. We need to check temperature drift too as well. My ZT219 does have 5uVDC noise floor when measuring very low resistance with DIY Kelvin clamp.

Zotek/Zoyi ZT219, Richmeters RM219 and Aneng AN870 are same Multi meter (including specifications) and it's looks like Manufactured by Zotek (just my guess)

@@kunickocaudieus7250 indeed, they definitely are. when you got it new and nicely properly calibrated then no problem it is. However as any multimeters they'd do need to get re calibrated from time to time and ZT219 seemed like not the easiest one to do calibration (realignment) yourself. they do use (IIRC) Dreamtech DTM0660 venerable chips, so their calibration procedure shouldn't be too far away from some internet sources, however each brand might have a slightly different ROM arrangement, so prepare for some trial and error (not to mention some equipment & software are required to read and reprogram its EPROM.

Dave just started a whole new series of youtube videos about basic electronics, about resistor & voltage divider, followed by inductor & capacitor, then about op-amps, transistors, mosfets, test equipments, etc. He got 1k+ worth of electronics videos for all of us.

All aneng brand meter not good for me. Sometimes we can't help but forget a little, for example we measure high voltage we forgot to set the resistance range. it suddenly exploded because of the low quality protection in circuit because it is a cheap meter. which company will put a high quality component inside and then sell it cheaply. also think professional tech

That hasn’t been my experience but I only have a few of the meters. I’ve been extremely happy with the V8 model. I have two of them and I’ve used them constantly for over a year and a half. I like to keep cheap meters around so when I’m poking around in a high powered or sketchy situation… I’m not risking my benchtop 8.5 digit meters or any of my other babies. They are like my children 😂 But I have not had any major issues with any of the aneng products. I’ve used the V-8 and st209 daily seven days a week in professional full-time repair work. For well over a year. Of course I use a nice set of probemaster leads… But the meters have treated me fine so far. That’s just my experience though. And I know that’s the number one thing where cheaper meters fail. Consistency. I might get a dozen good meters and you might get a dozen bad meters and they could all be from the same batch.

@@vachik979 нормальные приборы за свою цену, а по удобству у всех вкусы разные, выбор есть. Например, я себе выбрал с ручным переключением пределов без автоматического, потому что мне ручное удобнее.

@@capitaineserge_9747 Я вам по секрету скажу, я на фиксированных и работаю. Ибо удобно и быстро. А автомат, это когда по высокому и по низкому первая пробежка, чтобы понять что есть где. А далее в тех диапазонах, которые нужны. Тем более! И это проблема даже крутых и дорогих мультиметров, когда они на автомате на сложном сигнале (переменка с большим смещением) могут выбрать совсем не тот диапазон и показать погоду на юпитере. А нам такого не нать. ))

Greetings, I have the multimeter UT89XD, the UT210E + PLUS clamp meter and the UT203 + clamp meter, the UT658 usb meter, excellent equipment for laboratory, electricity and automotive, which for me every electrical / electronic technician should have, they are reliable and at a good price ... .... now I'm going to complement with the UT61E + .......
