Now, the thing with Toriel is definitely an odd case. Normally, you can progress her fight by intentionally whiffing your attacks. I wonder why doing exactly that crashes when you change her stats?

See undertale doesn't just check your LOVE (level of violence) or EXP (execution points) to determine which route you took it also checks your kill count and if it is all the monsters it means that genocide will be triggered tl:dr you will still fight sans but you have weaker stats
