It's almost too much! It's very clever (it's brilliant!) and Lisa the magician, the beautiful trickster, is always at work. She's not really playing live, but the director (and Lisa!) made the decision to lock off the camera on our star in front of a microphone in an empty, old-style concert venue. (This to counter all the accusations of lip-syncing following her recent live performances!) And to simulate realism further, to take the wonderful illusion all the way, they even added some microphone pops and a few little “live” atmosphere sounds as if it really is live. And the song really is Kiss Me, with new lyrics by the guitar player who wrote it. So it is really a cover, but not! (Key word: Interpolation! Actually Jessie Reyez is credited as songwriter, as well as producer Ryan Williamson (aka Rykeyz) and Matt Slocum, the Sixpence None the Richer member who wrote “Kiss Me.”) The spells Lisa weaves are unbeatable.
