It's a liquid with a high viscosity. However there is a state between super solids and liquids that is unique to a few elements. However viscosity does not change a state of matter. Though also I should mention that when you mix a solid (the solute) into a liquid to make a solution which Ketchup would also be (same with cake batter).

A salt (chemical made of a positive and negative ions) is aqueous if it dissolved in water, making the ions separate inside the water. I'm pretty sure the atoms making up ketchup doesn't split apart when in water, so it's not aqueous. As for whether it's a liquid or solid, I think this counts as a solid that behave like a liquid. I'll go look it up, but I think this is the classification given to sand and slime Edit: im back. Ketchup is a non-newtonian fluid. It's behaves like a solid or liquid depending on the force applied on it. Water and oil are newtonian fluids, it's viscousity/stickiness is proportional to the force applied on it. Slime and ketchup on the other hand is non-newtonian, it's viscousity is not proportional to the force applied on it. For ketchup, if you apply a force on it, it gets less viscous and flows better. I guess in the same way something is a solid or liquid depending on heat, non-newtonian fluids are solid or liquid depending on how much force is acting on it.

Also when I say indefinite shape, I mean that it will fill a container, top to bottom, no matter how you put it, and it will be about equal, depending on the liquids consistency.

Ketchup is a liquid, as it has a definite volume but indefinite shape. Also aqueous is when describing chemicals that are usually solid that are dissolved in liquid, generally water. For example. If you take salt crystals, its solid. If you dissolve it in water, the salt becomes aqueous. However, the water stays as a liquid. So basically aqueous is a dissolved solid and ketchup is liquid by definition.
