Based on your review we purchased, new, the base model WM3400CW washer and dryer, on sale, installed $1400,00; are only compliant is that the Units were not Leveled, and the washer defaults to Hot Water instead of Cold. Not a big deal but something else to cycle through. We owned the Maytag Neptune (series) purchased in 1996, which required minimal maintenance (belts, idler pulley, etc). After switching to propane from natural gas the motor went out on the dryer (5 years later in 2015) it was a simple fix and this Maytag Set is still doing heavy duty work for our daughter and her growing family. Thank You for these videos.

Front load washers wash really well. As well as this appears to have done, it is actually sub par compared to older front loaders that acually use a generous amount of water. If it had a visible water level, there wouldn't be any stains at all.

@@mikebennett703 it is possible to adjust water level on lg washers. I adjusted mine, now it's absolutely the best washing machine I ever had. It needs a little bit more water to rinse detergent better and it does after adjustments were made. KZbin has videos on how to do that.

@@BrigitaTaure Well, some of the newest machines use sensors and computer controls in addition to the pressure switch in some cases to determine water amounts. The pressure switches may only adjust a small amount but may cause computer errors if adjustments are too much out of spec..Front load washers have no equal if they are allowed to use a decent amount of water though. Time to scrap the energy star program!

Thanks for the video. During the tumble pause in the rinses, I hear a sizzling sound along with water trickling. Is this from the washer or something in the background? If it is the washer what is going on?

If you want it to perform better, adjust your water level by turning the water pressure transducer screw 1 1/2 turns clockwise, and use a regular detergent not the HE one, and your laundry will smell fresh and the washer will wash things much better.

However there is a flaw when doing this, you talked about increasing the water level by turning the pressure switch, you know doing that can void your warranty, meaning if something breaks inside the machine, YOU are paying for it. Unless you're machine is old enough to no longer have a warranty

in Europe when we have this kind of stains we turn ON prewash and then boilwash 95 [temperature of wather 200 F] and kitchen cloths are 100% clean .Of course in Europe we use normal powder detergent no pads shit like that .And some normal wash in Europe are about 2 hours with prewash are longer...

I don’t understand your love of short cleaning cycles. Yes, short cycles are nicer than long cycles, but I am limited by how quickly my dryer can dry, not how quick my washer washes. How long do you need to leave your cloths in the dryer?

I have a wm3900 and most of the time my clothes are more than dry after 30-40 minutes. Dryer is typically done well before my washer is if I run a big load.

I really wish I could love these LG washers.., but to say that I am really not a fan of all these dry tumbling and swirling intervals for 5 and 10 minutes at a time would be an understatement. My Maytag Neptune gets right down to business: wash, rinse, spin, done. A normal wash takes just 46 minutes. I don’t know what all the LG time wasting stuff is all about.

It's about water savings. Because the water amount is much less, therefore a longer wash time is needed in order to achieve a similar performance. Us who live in places where water is scarce don't mind the sacrifice

Your beginning statement made no sense about having all towels cleaned. You can mark a clean towel(s) as the control with an inorganic made marker and then stain all the other towels with ketchupas the experiment. While I appreciate your video, running the cycle on "light soil" negates the efficacy of running the experiment on the heavy duty setting. Ravi Peiris M.D.

All it does is decrease the wash time. it still has the same roughness. He wanted the times between all of his washers to be relatively the same time. His test is just fine.

I don't understand how still seeing a ketchup stain is a good result. is this what you expected and you think this is good ? That is a very long wash to have a result that is not even cleaning that towel.

He said his goal was *NOT* to get that towel clean, this test is to show us how much of the ketchup stain the machine can remove with out pre treatment! I will defy this comment until you get it right!
