Paula Paula Paula!!! Saw my doctor today for a follow up. I’ve lost 17 pounds, blood pressure went from high to beautiful, and A1c went down from 7 to 5.7 !!! I am no longer considered diabetic! My doctor was thrilled and I am over the moon! Just 3 months of keto (not even doing it perfectly but trying my best). You gave me the motivation to know that I could do it! Thank you so much, Paula! Best Christmas present ever. ❤

Nice to see you having success on your low carb journey! I have PCOS which is closely tied to insulin resistance. So, I'm low-carb/keto and life is so much better. Also, once I realized how many diseases are linked to glucose/insulin spikes (i.e. diabetes, heart disease, alzheimers, dimentia, fatty liver, pcos, and more), i can't go back to eating carbs like I used to. Not worth it and immediately makes me feel like garbage.

Keto should be spot on for inflammatory conditions, highly recommended for those of us getting a bit older or with brain fog for improved cognitive function. You may want to speak to your doctor first, get them to run some basic blood test, and liver/kidney function etc. We are all different and not all diets are for everyone so better to check first. It puts a burden on your body for the first week with a switch to burning ketones, and there are some risks for some, but for me the benefits outweigh anything else by far.

I stay away from snack substitutes just makes the process of changing harder and I am sooo sensitive to sugar so it spikes my glucose readings. I learned that sweet is sweet to the body and it reacts the same which I found to be true for me. I am mostly Carnivore which gets hard but after 2 months and 15# down it is worth it and now food does not control me I just eat meat when I am hungry.
@janvazquez79022 жыл бұрын
A low carb and high protein diet go hand in hand. For breakfast I eat a egg white ham and chicken sausage omelette, for a snack I eat 1 or 2 meat sticks from Sam’s club, and for dinner I eat any piece of meat with a side greens like broccoli or asparagus or even just sautéed spinach which are also high on protein and low on carbs. And I don’t really eat lunch cause I feel like it’s just an extra amount of food for me that doesn’t seem necessary since I no longer get hungry around that time, which is why I just eat a meat stick instead. But this diet is the best thing that has ever happened to me because I not only lose weight but I also gain muscle because of the high protein and weight lifting I do.

The secret is to think ahead a little, use the freezer if you can. Running out of food options means you are more likely to carb snack. A lot of great products on market now, gotten much better over last two years with bread/pizza bases etc. Frozen cauli rice also a great one to have handy, haloumi to fry quick with a few tomatoes (not too may) and herbs and throw on a salad for a quick fix, berries are good, and chicken is a must in my household. Easy tasty, cooked chicken cut up, mix with green pesto, a few cherry tomatoes chopped and lashings of mozzarella (use foil and no washing up-even better), under the grill then wrapped in iceberg lettuce. Dam tasty, 5 minutes flat. Good luck, be patient with it and enjoy.

Interesting you mentioned micro-blading Paula, as I've been considering it for a couple years now~ I'm still undecided between micro-blading & powder brows. I've read so much info on both, & what's annoying is that those who specialize in micro-blading tend to poo-poo the powder brows & vice versa. Seems there are pros & cons for both, but my own main goal is to have them as under-done looking/natural as possible. My understanding is that it's all to do with the eyebrow artist~ some are heavier handed, & so forth. I need to get back to looking at their photo galleries, now that I'm back near a major city again~ meaning, I have options. =) Yours look amazing btw, but I'm in Phoenix, so getting a referral is out I think🤣 *Food looks delicious, as usual~ thanks for sharing!

Definitely in regards to the intermittent fasting, they've done studies on that. For the keto, it's meant to be a diet, not a lifestyle.; there really isn't any data yet on long term keto. You could go between keto and low carb, but I'm referring to strict keeping your body in ketosis.

y'all talk about fasting on keto. I never ate breakfast due to not being hungry at 4 or 4:30 am when I had to goto work. then I became a diabetic and they say is YOU have to eat breakfast!!! But people say keto is good for diabetics. I'm so confused... also what did you fix for your hubby to eat other then greenbeans and beef? My hubby needs more. he's one that can't put weight on....
@lowcarbrevelation2 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to do intermittent fasting to do keto. You can eat whenever you want as long as you’re eating low-carb. My hubby likes all kinds of foods, hamburger, steak, meatloaf, watch some of my videos for recipes. 😊

Why do i always hear all the people on Keto channels using Redmond's Real salt? What is special or better about it compared to something like pink Himalayan salt?

I’m going to make a quick video on this. I get asked a lot. The salt is unrefined and has minerals that your body needs.

Are you on hormones? Reason i ask is because I read that women who are in menopause respond well on Keto diet and that women keto diet is different vs men keto diet. I’m so take Hormones and my Dr doesn’t advise keto diet for me. I’ve lost some weight doing Noom but now have an stuck. So looking how to tweak my eating. I’m pretty much a lean eater, too lean per my Dr. My body is in starvation mode. I need to increase more protein. So that’s what made me look at keto again.

I don’t take anything for my hormones and everything is doing great! Most doctors don’t like the keto diet. Watch Dr. Ken Berry on KZbin.
