Most people on the keto diet avoid seed oils
@Jen.K4 күн бұрын
I'm not sure that's true. If you are eating a lot of processed keto snacks and commercially prepared keto foods, they can still contain seed oils and still be sold as keto friendly.

My sex life was shot until I lost 70 lbs on a keto/carnivore diet. My extremely poor health led to erectile issues and a complete lack of libido. At 38, I was only getting busy once or twice a month. Once I had taken off about 30 lbs and after coming off blood pressure and cholesterol meds, my sex drive rushed back, the erectile issues went away and my wife and I have rekindled our physical connection to a place where it was when we first met 10 years ago. This is just my personal experience, but it was a life changing one.

I had fatty liver, told doctor I was going to do Keto. He didn't like the idea but he knew I was going to do it, I was 75 pounds over weight. While on keto testing showed the indicators from my liver within 6 months were moving in right direction and within a year all the indicators showed I was within normal range. Imaging of my liver showed my liver was healing, that continues today. The doctor that was against Keto, after seeing my weight loss and blood test showing improvements he asked if I was willing to talk to some of his patients. Today I am not looking at losing weight but maintaining my weight at a level I haven't been since high school days while playing sports. I am 77 but I am at the weight I was at 16, 17 years old. I have been on Keto for over 3 years, but following information from Dr Westman and others my health has improved greatly.

It amazes me that the last two years I’ve completely turned my life around when it was in a dead spiral! I’ve lost well over 75 pounds from a 46 waist now a 34 waist. I have a neck again! Plus I can wear the clothes I desire instead of what’s simply available to me. And I have friends who walk around overweight with feet so swollen they can’t even wear shoes and are forced to wear slides. And when I mention keto they respond with “ I need carbs for energy, plus I can’t give up bread “. I then stay focused on myself.

@Jen.K4 күн бұрын
When you start digging into the science, you find out that the links between high LDL levels and heart disease are not conclusive and other factors like insulin resistance, metabolic health in general and smoking are much higher risk factors than LDL levels alone. There seems to be a correlation, shown in some studies, between high LDL levels and heart attacks, but other factors prove to be more of a causation and LDL is only part of the picture. All cause mortality is lower in people with higher levels of LDL. If everything else is great, high LDL levels alone is not something to worry about. I'm not a doctor, these are just things I've learned by doing my own research.

Let’s see here. After two years on keto/carnivore, I’ve lost over 100lbs, dropped my blood pressure from an avg 151/94 to 108/67, lowered my fasting glucose from avg 122 to 102 (still some work to do here), and two autoimmune issues (eosinophilic esophagitis and psoriatic arthritis) have disappeared. I went from being a couch potato due to nearly constant joint pain to doing just under 100,000m per month on a rowing machine. I also lift weights now and my fat percentage on the impedance scale dropped from 41 to 23%. I feel amazing as a 53 year-old male who barely two years ago felt like he was dying. But yeah, I’ll just go ahead and trust Jameson Luskay and quit everything I’ve been doing 😂

I recently had a full panel blood test, and the results were incredible-every single marker has improved compared to last year. I’ve been eating fewer than 20 carbs a day, sometimes as low as 5, and at 52 years old, my body is clearly healing. One big win: my fatty liver, which I’ve had for 15 years, is no longer an issue. On top of that, my insulin resistance has improved significantly, dropping from 4.6 to 1.4 based on my lab results. I’m amazed at the progress and can only hope this healing doesn’t come with any surprises like Keto D! ;)

From Ontario, Canada. My fats are grass fed butter or Organic, Extra virgin olive oil, organic cold press coconut oil, Organic avocado oil, fresh avocado. Don't eat beef or pork. Only chicken, lamb, eggs and whey isolate protein powder 0 sugar. Sardines, salmon tin & fresh. Shrimp, sweet pepper, broccoli, cauliflower. Some salad with regular cheese and i make my own dressing apple cider vinegar, lemon juice & EVOO salt & pepper to taste. would have some sour dough bread 1 slice maybe 2 or 3 times a week toasted with butter & EVOO. Sauerkraut and kimchi. Some lentil roti & occasionally 1 cup basmati rice. Blood pressure still high. Any clue.

I am over 4 years keto/ketovore. My body fat is down, libido is up, sexual performance is up, my mood is improved, and I easily grow lots of facial hair. I really don't think I have any issues with testosterone based on observing my own situation. IMO, keto is an entirely natural metabolic state. The fossil record is clear that for the last 1-2 million years humans were primarily carnivorous. Many of the problems with human nutrition have their genesis in the agricultural revolution that began 10-12 thousand years ago, which is quite recent when compared to millions of years. It has become much worse in recent modern times due to the extremely unnatural ingredients and unnatural concentrations of carbs that have pervaded the typical American diet. Keto has given me the tools to save my own life. My own experience is that is exactly what has happened over the last 4 years.

I'll stick with my fat and cholesterol thanks. I've already told my doctor, "NO" to statins. She took it like a man.

I would recommend exercise and low carb KETO to lose weight and raise your Testosterone. Trying to build muscle stimulates testosterone production.

You can tell that General Mills and Sanitarium Foods are panicking when these fear mongouring vids are coming out. Keto is cutting into their profit margin.

No logic here... 5 day water fast would be impossible on a heavy carbohydrate diet that makes one to want to eat every 2 hours!

If I remember my class lectures correctly - it was 50 years ago now - most blood tests offer a “snapshot in time”. When it comes to hormones, the time of day the sample was taken and activity level prior to the test can influence the results. We now know that recent sleep and stress can also have a detrimental effect. So to “blame” a low testosterone level simply on diet is ridiculous! I’d say that “blaming” diet alone for most hormone issues is rather shortsighted. Can it be a part of an ongoing problem? Of course, I would not claim it couldn’t be. However, more needs to be considered than just dietary issues.

He obviously, hadn’t gone down the keto whole correctly, as he hasn’t looked into what he might be doing incorrectly. Those seed oils are a problem (in my view) but they exist in the SAD even more so.

Please thumbs up/pin this guys - Dr im from the UK and been carnivore for 12 months now super strict and experiment with dairy too but mainly just ground beef and steak daily My doctor recommended a blood test i had one and my cholesterol was 7.9 He said this was outrageously high and that i would need statins i laughed and said i workout 5 times a week im the fittest i have ever bin since being on this diet As of today 23.12.24 i just received this message Your cholesterol has risen to 10.9 which is even higher I would strongly recommend you have a consultation with a lipid clinic refferal and start treatment Would it be possible to look over my latest results and to give your opinion? Thank you so much

`well listening to Thomas the impression I got is that he still does not eat a lot of carbs.If I had all those muscles and was very insulin sensitive I would love to add in a little honey too and some sweet potatoes.

Notice how this person never described any specific symptomology, just talked about elevated levels of arbitruary markers and such. An absolute clown no one should take any nutritional advice from.

I was strict keto for 5 years before it was a fad. After about 4 years i developed elevated fasting blood sugar because of gluconeogenisis. My testosterone tanked, my sleep was awful and my competitive running suffered. I then went back to 50% healthy carbs, 30% protein and 20% fats. I now enjoy a wide variety of foods and all my problems resolved. Keto is too restrictive and cultish.

What is your age? It seems you are very athletic, this is the need for more carbs.

@ToriLynnH10 күн бұрын
Increase A systematic review and meta-analysis found that ketogenic diets (KD) can increase testosterone levels, especially with very low-calorie ketogenic diets (VLCKD). A 2014 study also found that people who followed a keto-style diet had higher testosterone levels than those who ate a Western diet.

After watching this “QUACK” in a white lab coat talk about how keto is somehow dangerous and unsustainable, I just had to laugh out loud. Here are my results of doing keto and now carnivore for 23 mos… I’m not only down 101 lbs (300 lbs to now 199, my lowest weight since I was 19 yrs old and I’m 62)… I’ve reversed/cured my T2 diabetes, high BP, fatty liver disease, migraines, IBS, acid reflux, chronic arthritis, fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety and a lot more. I’ve never been healthier or happier in my life, and had I not found keto and carnivore, I don’t believe I would be alive for very much longer. Now if honestly believe I will live until 100 yrs old or older in excellent physical and mental health and live to see my great grandchildren.😊

Cholesterol being a precurser to testosterone is called the "steroidogenic pathway", and is what contributed to my T-score skyrocketing from 168 mg/dL to 655 mg/dL. That's a 300% increase in T-score after 18 months on carnivore. But hey, he's wearing a white lab coat, so he must know what he's talking about. 🤔
