I believe it. A big hindrance is that it's gotten too expensive for many people these days.

the KZbin channel 'living well with schizophrenia' documented her journey of using medical keto to treat her schizoactivive disorder and tapered off the anti psychotics after like a decade of being on drugs.

Will Hall was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his late teens. He went on a healing journey that changing his diet was important and he included acupuncture, mediation and exercise. He was able to taper off the antipsychotics and is author of Coming off psychiatric medication : a harm reduction strategy. It is free online I think Will Hall’s website and at the Icarus project.

This is NOT the kind of food offered in mental hospitals. Why not?
@drunkensquirrel7545Күн бұрын
I'm guessing it's because of a) cost and/or b) they don't want patients getting better.

bc hospitals aren't evidence based to treat acute mental health crisis and bc ppl being sent to these places are primarily about social control and not actual health. also voluntary is basically a myth. they are coercing vulnerable ppl ultimately and justifying it with faulty data. they are a medical industrial complex. feeding ppl heavy greasy food is a form of punishment and control and to make ppl feel exhausted and potentate sedation from the sedating drugs they are giving ppl also. also its cheap.

@@drunkensquirrel7545 I agree with you but have trouble believing there's not enough money in that institution! Therefore, I think the latter is more likely the reason.

My doctor vetoed a keto diet for my bipolar condition because it can disrupt Lithium levels. Thoughts?

I loved eating the Keto way but had to stop because it caused extreme insomnia. This is a very common problem I’ve seen all over the internet. Still wanting a solution because, as I said, I loved the diet.

u can do a little carb loading at night like if u eat under 20g net per day u can eat like 15 g per carbs per day near night
@Jannietime15 сағат бұрын
@@Ravenz-ux7pb thank you but doesn't that defeat the purpose of staying under 20 g/day? I mean doesn't that make your intake 35g/day?
@Ravenz-ux7pb5 сағат бұрын
@@Jannietime1 no lol like if ur eating 20g per day, have like 5 g during the day then right before u sleep carb load so have the 15g of carbs right before u go to sleep.

I am really scared of having high ldl levels. It is crazy how we don't even know what to eat.

High LDL levels is not an indicator of poor health. Read the literature. Listen to Chris Palmer.
@blueelisa17Күн бұрын
@lululove6175 Dr Palmer is a psychiatrist and I believe this can be scary territory because there are contradictory opinions from literature about this. I went to medical school and I got a really basic superficial lectures concerning nutrition but in endocrinology it was always emphasized the role of hdl and how high ldl over a prolongued amount of time is highly associated with heart disease. I think we should be carefull of not fixing something and impairing something else, and some people might say they are fine now but this builds up over prolongued exposition.

how can someone be diagnosed with drug induced psychosis, then bipolar ii (no drug test), then bipolar i, then addiction, then schizo affective disorder, then Endometriosis, then hypothyroidism, then BPD, then ehlers danlos syndrome, then ankylosing spondylitis, have 50+ psych hospital stays between 1998 and 2022 and still never have their history of severe childhood exploitation, or aphasia, or domestic violence confirmed? genuine query. where's the duty of care?
