My brother was diagnoised with schizophrenia at 20 years of age. Itcis a life long heartbreak and breavement to see this gentle giant suffer quietly trying to live pumped full of drugs. He is now 65years and a carbohydrate addict. I have always suspected that wheat affected his mental health. Thank you. I dont know whether to be full of joy or sad as I imagine that it may be so challengng to foster a trial keto approach in the services. Thank you so much for your work.

My dear sister would have greatly benefitted with this knowledge. It might have saved her... She was bi-polar in the age of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." She was at the Oregon State Mental hospital in Salem Oregon and in Dammasch Hospital in Wilsonville and at Holladay Park Hospital in Portland. Shock treatments and lithium were the regimen. She had the HIGHEST highs and the LOWEST lows. It was agonizing for us... it affected me a lot. She passed away in 2010 alone in an adult care facility. The lithium had affected her kidneys and she was facing dialysis. Not a good candidate for dialysis. She choked to death on a PBJ sandwich.

I am so so sorry that she became a victim of this dreadful mental health "care" system. It sounds barbaric. I hope the work of this woman is listened to and adopted. I fear that drug companies and vested interests who stand to make money from the status quo will fight to keep things as they are.

To be dead he could be high functioning Asperger’s and may not be aware of it himself as a doc People on the spectrum especially high functioning with great speech and vocabulary often don’t give off red flags until it comes to communication such as lack of emotions or interrupting people during conversation which is a high indication of ASD. And what’s ironic is in another video he speaks on electrolytes and added supplements that we don’t need totally overlooking the realm of people on the spectrum taking additional supplements such as nac, electrolytes paired with fasting and ketovore diet to minimize the effects of autism aka also a portion of mental health. This is where I start to get turned off because ego comes into play and you correlate your body compared to others on the planet saying what someone may or may not need not understanding things such as ASD

However, I am a man and I don’t have the menopause aspect. I wonder what my problem could be

I am convinced the human brain needs from birth, both glucose and ketones to develop and be fueled properly. From the time a child is first given sugar this goes off the rails as consuming glucose shuts down ketosis. Are we surprized that after blocking ketone production and starving the brain for decades we get horrible brain diseases? Yikes! Statins interfere with production of cholesterol in the brain. Glad I quit in 2018. Now I have a new argument for the doctor.
@nathancardon86377 ай бұрын
I'm curious how you would relate this to breast milk. Breast milk has about 7% carbohydrate with some glucose and lactose. Those obviously aren't straight table sugar but still might prevent as many ketones and provide that little bit of essential glucose for the brain like Dr. Ede said.

She mentioned her clients never get better. Could it be the medication big pharmaceutical companies made in a lab? Could the medication be stopping them from what they really need? I think the diet is just a new dopamine hit that make them feel like its helping them. They are still on medication during this diet.

To be fair he could be high functioning Asperger’s spectrum and may not be aware of it himself as a doc People on the spectrum especially high functioning with great speech and vocabulary often don’t give off red flags until it comes to communication such as lack of emotions or interrupting people during conversation which is a high indication of ASD. Oh my goodness this is the MOST frustrating thing to watch. You ask her so many questions all at once then only let her answer the first part before launching into something else that her answer has brought up. You've got to let her speak and answer you fully or be more succinct with your questioning. I wanted to hear so much more of what she had to say. Are you a Gemini perhaps?!

Certain disorders have their roots in trauma, life-threatening experiences that the mind cannot integrate in real time. Worse in the presence of metabolic mitochondrial disorder, sure. But please don't mix apples and oranges. A carnivore diet is not going to erase the horrors of a horrible family life.

I love Dr Georgia Ede, I've read her book and any time there is a KZbin video with her I'm interested in watching. I had unsubscribed from this channel because he nothing doesn't let anyone speak. I pulled this video up, looked at the first couple of comments and as expected, someone said let her speak. I'm not going to watch it because it would be frustrating to hear him speaking instead of her. Dr Cywes, from one PhD to another, please do a little better. Try to work on your tendency to dominate the conversation. If you are so lucky as to have someone like Dr Ede on, let her speak. I've seen you do this in a number of videos and that is the reason I unsubscribed. It can be frustrating to watch your videos. I think this is the reason you haven't reached more people. You can work on your style, you can improve it and I think that would be beneficial for you and for your audience.

I can't be the only one to notice Dr. Cywes hasn't dropped a pound of weight since beginning KZbin. He's the same exact level of overweight year after year. And this is a guy who claims he himself practices keto or carnivore, like he preaches. Obviously his diet is not working.
@RationalNon-conformist7 ай бұрын
He doesn’t look overweight from what I’m seeing.. his face, neck, chest area look well to me.. some people don’t get super lean on keto if they have slow metabolism.. it can take years.
@DKing-js1of7 ай бұрын
He's definitely overweight. You may not think he is by today's standards, but look at a photo from the 1950s or 1960s, where everyone is thin. Their faces are lean and they have well defined jaw lines. That's rare nowadays. He's overweight.
@DKing-js1of7 ай бұрын
In fact, there's a video he put put out recently where he acknowledged that he had some weight to lose still. That's fine, except he's been on this diet for literally years and he looks exactly the same. How has he not leaned out one bit during years of the so called perfect diet for weight loss and metabolic health. He's just a regular guy struggling to lose weight like everyone else. Know why? Because this diet is not special. It's still about calories at the end of the day, but nobody wants to hear that anymore.
