Another reason that I find makes carnivore less expensive is that there is almost zero spoilage waste. You take the meat out of the freezer, let it defrost, and eat it. There is nothing at the bottom of the veg drawer going bad before you get to it.

@Falhawk73 Please back up your assertions about what is "healthier". Until then, these are just your opinions, not facts. There are lots of ways to make carnivore affordable if you care to put in a little effort such as buying in bulk and buying lesser known cuts (e.g. chuck steak instead of ribeye). Writing it off as unsustainable is just lazy. I have been a carnivore since 2013. It's very sustainable. Also Carnivore is a subset of keto. They are not really two separate things.

@robinbeers6689

@Falhawk73 I never said YOU have to be carnivore. I don't care what you eat. Relax. I choose to be carnivore because it has cured my epilepsy. Carnivores aren't dogmatic the way vegans are. You don't lose your "carnivore card" for having some avocado on your burger. Humans have been primarily carnivorous since cave person days. This is not opinion. Look up the science of stable isotope studies done on bones. I deal in facts not generalizations, hyperbole, and strawmen.
@robinbeers6689
@robinbeers6689 3 жыл бұрын
@Falhawk73 A couple of things. Notice that I never said that you or any other specific person SHOULD do anything. You OTOH, are saying that "normal" people SHOULD be omnivores. What any one person SHOULD do, is up to them. How about if you de-generalize your statement to, "I feel that this is what I should do for me"? Then we have no issue. Yes, we have the capacity to eat both plants and animals. That is probably why we have been so successful as a species thus far, we aren't fussy. But historically, the times and places where we didn't have many choices in plants while meats were plentiful outnumber the opposite. They are called ice ages. (I recommend Nora Gedgaudas' fine book, "Primal Body, Primal Mind" for more on this.) Even today, it would be impossible to be a vegan or vegetarian and survive in the wild. These diets are only made possible by supermarkets that bring foods (and supplements) from all over the world to one handy location. Blood results are not generalizable from one person to the next. Mine are much better than Dr. Baker's for example. And there are lots of vegans who are falling apart physically and turning carnivore to avoid dying, restore fertility, hair loss etc. Also, you need to define what you mean by having "good" bloodwork "science wise". A lot of what counts for good bloodwork in most MDs offices these days is all about the LDL and/or the TC which are completely meaningless numbers. I recommend Dave Feldman's excellent work on cholesterol for more on this. There is a book called "Hypercarnivore" out there by Don Mataez which sets the cut-off for being a hyper carnivore at 70% of your nutrition coming from animal foods. Just saying, there are a lot of different definitions of "carnivore" and I don't care about anyone else's but mine. For me the meat is the food and plants are flavorings and decorations (tea, spices, shrooms, garlic, etc.) Plants can also be medicinal, e.g. cannabis helped me wean off of the Rx meds I was taking for my no longer problematic seizure disorder. So far I am 4/5th of the way off the meds. Working on that last 1/5. Dr Saladino is actively seeking out carbs because he feels he needs more calories than a purely carnivorous diet can give him. Not being a muscle headed studly young guy who works out like a fiend myself, that is not important to me. Note that he does not even say that one "should" do the honey and squash stuff that he does, just that is is, in his opinion, right for him. He also got Covid after increasing his carb intake. Could just be a coincidence. I genuinely feel sorry for you if there is no good beef available where you are but there is nothing wrong with going with fish and poultry. Where do you live just out of curiosity? You obviously have the internet so it can't be all that far off in the wilds.

What you are explaining is negating "decision fatigue". You are essentially creating a uniform diet. This reduces stress and confusion in so many other areas of your life. After going carnivore I also streamlined my wardrobe, decluttered my house and went on a no-buy for several months. Reducing variables seriously improves your life.

I like carnivore better too. I'm 70 and I don't want to spend a lot of time shopping, preparing and cooking. I eat a lot of ground beef, eggs, cheese, bacon, chicken, canned tuna and salmon, easy things like that to prepare. Sometimes I'll have a bit of veg, such as avocados, mushrooms, pickles, but generally try to keep carbs under 10 grams. Also do OMAD now. Been carnivore about 6 months. Still working on weight and metabolic issues, but it's coming along nicely. Thanks for your videos! I really enjoy them.

I’m 71. Just switched from keto to carnivore a few weeks ago. For now, I’m just sticking to meat, eggs, butter and water with electrolytes. I gave up cheese because I wasn’t able to lose any more weight. It seemed hard at first, but I honestly don’t crave anything any more. I eat eggs, bacon and sausage or ground lamb around noon and a steak at 6. The reason carnivore works for me is because I’m lazy. 🤣 No meal planning and limited items from grocery store.

@@seeking.harmony Sounds great! Good luck on your journey! I'm nearly zero carb now. Some do creep in, say in some sausages or liver pate. Just made a lovely dish that I heard of in a Judy Cho video interview with 78 yr old, Mary Fields. Mary cooks two pounds of beef, together with one pound of pork and one pound of lamb (all ground), and stews it with a little salt. I added two slices of bacon that I had leftover, and it was exceptionally delicious! And you can get 4 or more meals out of it. I call it my B2BLP meal, in honor of Dr. Ken Berry's BBBE challenge. 😁

Great video! I love listening to you ! I have also been carnivore now for one full year. I have fallen off the carni wagon three times in the past year. It always starts with some sort of self talk, that I need to have just one candy bar/cupcake etc ...and then I tell myself I will go right back to my strict carnivore. Well that’s my big lie... it always spirals into at least a 6-10 day binge fest, eating as much garbage as I can possibly find in a day. When I binge, I feel like a drug attic that has went back to my addiction after quitting. All of my aches and pains, anxiety, and brain fog also come back full force during my binges. Not to mention this usually ends with a 7-10 pound weight gain for me. I have come to the realization that I have no choice but to be a lifelong abstainer, because I am NOT a moderator.

Carmen from what I have heard sugar no matter where it comes from IS as addictive as hard drugs! You can do what is best for you because you deserve to be without pain, anxiety, and brain fog! I have just begun this new journey late February of Keto and feeling MUCH better but I believe I can feel even better and CONSIDERING carnivore. More time on Keto may work for me but I do not do there desserts, pizzas and such for I know it would throw me under the train so to speak. Prayers for you and all that are trying to be healthy but fighting addiction tendencies of sugar.

Laura, I'm exactly the same and agree with everything. I've been carnivore now 18+ months and OMAD for over 12 months, it just works best for me as I can still overeat. It's simple, delicious, I'm not hungry the rest of the time and I don't crave that other stuff anymore. Like you, I can't moderate. Because of that, I became fat and sick. Carnivore has turned that around, and given me back my health and life. Thanks for your constant hard work to spread the word 👏👏

Laura, Love your videos! I’ve been clean from my food drugs (sugar and wheat) for 19 years. I was still about 30 pounds overweight. A little over 2 years ago I tried Keto, in a quest to help body aches and pains. (I’m 69)I lost a little weight but still didn’t feel that great and I was still fixated on food. So, in December of 2018 I decided it wouldn’t hurt me to try Carnivoire....BINGO I immediately dropped the extra weight! For all the reasons you state, I LOVE Carnivore. I tried adding a little dairy and have found my body doesn’t function as well with that. So it’s strictly meat and eggs for me. I love weighing what I did in High School. And I love knowing I never have to eat a salad again ever! You are such a beautiful woman...I’m your Southern Arizona fan club. Anna

I’m blown away by not needing to snack on the carnivore. I was eating every 2 hours because I was hungry before carnivore meals. I’m so happy I stumbled across your videos.

I just need the flexibility to have something different on occasions to keep me motivated and not get burned out. Also, would love if you did more about your kids meals! When you do keto or carnivore you need 400 mg of magnesium daily ( 3 dollar or 4 from any pharmacy) to avoid keto flue or carnivore flue. Also potassium is important once a week, just 1/4 tsp that is like a little pinch with your finger. You can get potassium in grocery store for 1 dollar or two, Potassium is called "Salt substitute"

Years ago, I lost a ton of weight on the Keto diet, which was fairly new at the time.. Lost weight extremely quickly. I kept it super simple; ate pretty much the same thing every day, consisted of eggs and meat basically. Started making some small exceptions, then large exceptions, then doing the worst thing possible- high fat low carb half the day, then ALL the carbs and sugars later. Resulted in a high fat/high carb diet.. As you can imagine, I gained it all back. It took about 8 years, but I got back to my starting weight that prompted me to make life style changes in the first place. Went Keto again and nothing really happened. I dropped maybe 10 lbs, but it kept creeping back up. After several months I examined what I was actually eating. I was very strict about keeping my carbs down, but I was eating a TON of 'Keto friendly' foods. Keto bread, keto tortillas, keto ice creams, keto shakes, etc... Looked up a lot of videos and found carnivore diet advocates, including your videos. Realized that the 'keto' that helped me lose weight 10 years ago was actually carnivore. The keto foods were holding me back; the fiber, sugar substitutes, etc that were replacing carbs and sugar were causing me to stall as if I were eating the original stuff.. Went straight carnivore a bit over a month ago, and it's simpler. I don't need to make a fake pizza crust for a keto pizza, I just pull a steak out of my sous vide and toss it in the cast iron. Or cook up a lb of ground beef and add a bit of cheese and sour cream. Eat a bunch of eggs and sausage/bacon for breakfast. 2 meals per day is plenty, and I'm dropping weight again. 20 lbs so far, and feeling wonderful. Joints had been painful for quite a while, inflammation is going down and I don't hurt all the time. I'll stick with carnivore, it works better for me.

I applaud you & your husband for finding this & its working great for you!! I tried carnivore for a few months & enjoyed it!! I learned so much about how I think & look at food. I already loved steak this just gave me a bigger reason to love it more!! Once going carnivore, I realized potatoes make me bloated, that used to be my favorite comfort food. Too many carbs make my stomach hurt. I'm now ketovore. I did miss salads, ginger snap cookies & the occasional glass of wine. So I slowly added them back in. A small amount of lettuce & cheese then I pile on the meats & boiled eggs.

Hi Laura, always helpful, truthful, and telling. I recognise it all. Carnivore is much easier for me, still using sweetener and cream in my coffee ( hanging on to that sweetness 🤪) slowly reducing, but the thought alone makes me feel 😔.. got some work to do🤔🤔💋🇬🇧

Great video! You look incredible with your glowing skin!!!!! Wow. I agree with much of your history. It’s such a tragedy about fiber being sold as helpful! Lies. I’ve gotten great benefits from very low carb like no joint pain, no gas, better focus, cheerfulness & hope (anti-depression), and no more dry eyes. I’ve just started carnivore and really enjoy the simplicity!!! Thanks! ❤

The key words are what works for me, and like I said I tried the carnivore diet and got really sick.I went on a loose keto vegetarian diet and I have been feeling so much better!! The most interesting thing is that all the diets carnivore, keto veggie, etc, high frutos corn syrup and processed sugar and flour are elimated as well as low carb fruit veggies etc. Good Luck I am glad you found something that works.

Thank you Laura! Great video. You helped me confirm my resolve to continue my carnivore journey. The scale has been steadily moving upward for me (13 lbs.) since leaving keto 8 mo. ago, and it's been a scary time. I love not tracking, and I feel great, but I cannot bear to think about regaining the 30 lbs, I lost on keto, to reach my goal weight. This video was very helpful to remind me of what I like about this WOE, and I saw that I eat as you do, meat, eggs, no dairy. Eventually, I'm trusting the weight will come off, so I will continue to eat meat, and drink water. I love your videos. So insightful and honest.

Great Video Laura but then everything you said is exactly all the reasons I myself have gone from Keto 2 years and almost 5 months after into Carnivore and though I cheat with lettuce on the taco salad with the sour cream yeah I get the same and know I can't have that and also sadly not many cheese. All cheese is not the same, but meats no matter what seem to be okay other than the less fatty ones which I always find myself satiated in the moment but then hungrier later on for more. Meat is satisfying, and I feel great and don't have any digestive issues. So many things come from my eating meat. Even being a little nauseas I eat a meat cookie AKA hamburger patty and its gone. You look amazing, your hair always healthy and your eyes always so bright. I find this to be the case for myself at 50. This WOE and Life is the most amazing thing I have ever done for myself PERIOD! What works for me is Keto- vore. Mostly meat but here and there fresh green beans from the garden. A salad with a meal(lettuce,fresh tomatoes,Sunflower nuts, Red cabbage Olive oil/vinegar dressing), sometimes broccoli. Just one thing with the meat and not every day. No such things as a piece of pie. If I have one piece it sets me off then I will have half a pie. Same for a candy bar, a brownie etc. I am better off to have nothing. Just a good .750 lb. Burger, 6or 7 chicken legs, 1lb. steak etc. Keto alone didn't do it. Keto-vore is much closer.

Appreciate your insights! I envy those who can switch to carnivore overnight!! Not me… After a rough first week going carnivore- nausea, low energy, constipation (painful yikes), and drastic 5% weight loss (I’m already lean), I’ve dialed it back and going Keto to slowly transition to carnivore. It’s not the diet- it’s my body. I’ve eaten the traditional garbage western diet my whole life and like an idiot, thought I could just quit cold turkey overnight without side effects!! Wrong!! Sadly realizing I’m more addicted to sugar/carbs than I thought- so going from 53 years of sugar/starches/processed food to zero took its toll! It took me 6 months to get in proper shape for my first Ironman, I understand that some things take time. I’m not giving up- instead backing off the carbs over time with a keto approach. Depending on how I feel, i hope to be full carnivore within 60-90 days. I WANT to be full carnivore but my body’s shock response really hit hard and it was miserable- also made everyone around me miserable! Maybe others have taken a similar path?

Hi Laura. I feel exactly the same as you do on this keto diet. I have been on this for only three weeks. I certainly have seen nothing positive yet. I seem to feel crummy on this diet. I have listened to a few different doctors about their opinions on keto. Wow! I didn't think this was rocket science! LOL. Give me a break! I understand, one size does not fit all. The more I listen to several different doctors about this keto, the more I get confused. I have not lost any weight, including water. I do the omad. I feel better when I don't eat anything. I fast every day for 20 or more hours. I will stay on this for one more week, which was my plan in the first place, then I will switch over to carnivore. I started this diet to get and feel healthier. No such thing yet. Thank you for this video. I have watched many videos by steak and butter gal. I think her name is Bella. Bella gained 25 pounds when she started the carnivore diet, YIKES! I hope and pray that does not happen to me. I have not heard of anybody else who gained weight when they switched from keto to carnivore. Oh well, I will just have to try it, and hope for the best! Thank you.

I encourage you to try carnivore (non cheese version) to at least see what it teaches you about how much protein your body needs. It taught me a lot and enabled me to fine tune my version of keto to an even better way and lost 10lbs last year that i didnt think i could being 50. Im holding steady at 125 easily and strength training. Going carnivore for 4 months last year helped me find a version of beef protein centered keto that has really helped me. If my health goals needed me to be meat only i would but my better ketovore now is meeting goals. My experiment with carnivore helped my ketosis plan.

I have really been enjoying your journey and your vids. TY. I plan to go Carn as soon as we move this week. With Keto I just didn’t lose weight - and maybe that’s bc I had too many carbs, IDK. But I never understood (and was stressed by) how to figure out all the macros and all. It was too confusing for me and I simply don’t want to to that. Carn sounds very doable.
