Btw - From what I have seen in your videos you and your sister do not suffer from Type 2 Diabetes, but there are people that do, like myself, and that follow what you make which is awesome because you let us know of tasty treats that we can eat without sugar. However, type 2 diabetes has more to do with the amount of Total Carbs, not Net Carbs there are in the food. What's my point? Best to tell people the amount of Total Carbs what the food has. My source? My Kaiser Diabetes Dietician - Kirsten Ransbury RD
@pearlberry---PearlyGates Жыл бұрын
@@arturoibarra1148 what I've noticed about the girls is that they do focus on low very low carb and basically I think they pretty much do what I do and that is they stay away from pastas, rice, potatoes and regular breads. I personally am type 2 diabetics and I feel like what they do really basically fits what my body needs as a diabetic. I also have the benefit of 9 years ago taking a DNA test and it showed that my body did not process carbs very well anyway but that I needed healthy fats with my proteins and by using the glucometer I let that tell me what foods caused a lower spike in my blood sugar after my meals. In order to fine-tune that skill I watched a lot of Dennis Pollock from "Beat Diabetes" who has controlled his type 2 Diabetes for 22 years.

11:12 That air pocket in an egg is largely dependent on the egg's age. The longer an egg sits, the bigger that pocket gets. For people who own their own chickens and cook an egg within an hour of it being laid, that air bubble basically doesn't exist.

After you rap the egg on the counter, lay it on its side & give it a roll using slight pressure. The shell should just about fall off. Also, the pressure cooker cranks out fabulous eggs.
@deborah25922 жыл бұрын
I do it the same way. Works great! Only I suggest you also start by also tapping the two ends/points, then tap and roll..... then pinch off the shell and membrane at the wide end where the air pocket is. Remove rest off shell from there. Ensures you get that underlying membrane along with the shell.
@annebogardus48782 жыл бұрын
How long do you cook them in the pressure cooker?
@jerritanner2752 жыл бұрын
@@annebogardus4878 it depends on how you like your eggs. I prefer a cooked but not hard yolk so I do 5 minutes on high pressure & 5 minutes natural release then a manual release. Put them into an ice bath to stop the cooking. The whites are tender, the yolks don’t have gray & they peel super easy.
@soul60s32 жыл бұрын
@@annebogardus4878 you use the 5-5-5 rule. Pressure for 5 minutes then let it sit for 5 minutes, then ice for 5. That is for hard. I would try 2-2-5

I sauté, in a small pan, a Tbsp each of chopped onion and red pepper in butter until carmelized, while whisking 2 eggs with 1-2 Tbsp of Artichoke/Jalapeno dip, shredded sharp cheddar cheese and seasoning (smoked paprika or fajita seasoning is yummy). Add the egg mixture to the pan, lower heat, cover for omelet or gently scramble. Yummy!

I normally cook something very similar in the instant pot - but I use 4 eggs. I use a corningware french white 15 oz oval dish and use the pressure function on the IP for 6 minutes w/natureal release of 5 minutes. Play around with the timing so your eggs are to your liking.
@Puglover1302 жыл бұрын
Sarah. I have very few skills but peeling eggs is one of them. 2 things to remember : first hold the egg sideways, like, lengthwise. Crack the shell on the counter along the perimeter of the fattest part (keep the egg lengthwise. Ok? Just crack along the centre perimeter of the fattest part. Then . Pick off one tiny piece of shell. Pinch gently - the goal is to get under that “membrane”. IF you pinch and get under the membrane, run your finger along the crack , under the membrane. Then both halves simply just come off in one piece. It’s SO easy. Even with fresh eggs. No ice bath required although when they finish cooking I drain the water and refill with cold, just let them sit there while I peel the others. Using This method , I can peel each egg in like 15 seconds. And there’s never anything missing .

The Dash works but is unnecessary. I get perfect "gelled" boiled eggs every time like this: Bring a pot of water to a furious boil. Put in a half dozen eggs, the fat end of which has been pierced with a push pin to relieve pressure in the air space there, boil for 1:45. Turn off heat and leave eggs sitting in the pot for another 7:15, a total of 9 minutes in the pot. Remove and submerge eggs in ice water or cool water. Works perfectly every single time. Adjust the yolk doneness to your liking by turning off the heat a little sooner or later. To peel crack the fat end and peel under cold running water letting the stream of water work between the shell and egg white to 'float' off the shell. I use a plastic egg peeler which looks like a diamond-shaped spoon, works wonderfully. The Dash is like an air fryer - a solution in search of a problem.

Did you pour BOILING water for the water bath of the ramekins? It didn't look hot to me. Cold water would certainly slow down the cooking process. I do love making eggs done EN COCOTTE, usually just by lining large muffin tins with deli ham slices, sprinkling in shredded cheese, crack an egg in and drizzle on some heavy cream, season to taste, and bake in oven (I'll try covering with foil next time if there is enough headspace to not touch the surface). I supposed you could place the muffin tin in a water bath as well, but I haven't tried yet.

My son is a chef and taught me how to make hard boiled eggs that always peel easier, which is most important I think. Cook them in boiling water with a TON of salt, I use about a 1/4 cup or more kosher salt, for 13 mins and then immediately in an ice bath. Less boil time for less done yolks. These eggs don't get those gray rings around the yolk either.

I do your oven method on my stove top with little stainless recipe cups like you'd use when premeasuring ingredients for a big recipe. I start with a frying pan w/glass lid. Fill w/just enough water to float the stainless receptacles while empty. As water heats drizzle into each receptacle approximately 1 1/2 teasp of bacon drippings (or butter). Using a basting brush smear the hot bacon grease up the sides about 2/3 to top edge. Before water begins to boil reduce heat to very low (or remove pan from heat source), add 1 egg to each and place lid on pan. Keep water just below boiling level. Test doneness by removing lid and pressing top of eggs w/back of spoon until they reach desired firmness. Quickly remove stainless receptacles from hot tub w/tongs and quickly turn your eggs out into a bowl or plate with a small rubber spatula. They will continue cooking for several minutes unless sliced open to allow steam to escape. I prefer the flavor of eggs cooked this way to any other method. I use a pinch of pink salt, a dash of fine ground cayenne pepper. Use bacon crumbles on top when I have them - and one slice of TWO NET CARBS wheat toast (10 calories ea) from WM freezer section. Bread distributed by Express Trading International, San Diego, CA. Eggs are the most complete protein known to science. Buy local if you can.

I would love to see a video on ideas to eat at regular American fast food chains, I know this is NOT ideal but in a pinch, what’s the best thing to eat at your burger joints or Taco Bell etc. if u have a video please link! I’d love to see. Anyways.. so your egg video inspired me to eat eggs this AM, I usually eat eggs about 3-4times a year. I eat one egg and almost feel sic by time I’m done lol. I mixed a couple of your recipes and came up with this… it was sooo good!! I litterly got seconds and ate like 3 eggs. I heated up some already seasoned grilled chicken I had and tossed in some leftover chopped sweet peppers (I didn’t realize these had carbs u ntil after) added a little coconut oil. While heating, I mixed 6eggs together added pepper, garlic powder, & a little bit of teriyaki sauce (I didn’t measure but maybe 2-4 T) not enough to take the yellow away from the eggs but it turned them color some, I also added some water for fluff. Poured into my sizzling chicken and scrambled . Once done, they really looked kinda brown, like u couldn’t tel the difference in the chicken and eggs lol. So I drizzled with a tad teriyaki sauce to kinda make it look like they were suposed to not be yellow 😂 turned out, the eggs where very mild teriyaki flavor and the drizzle really kicked them up. They were sooo good!! My non low carb husband even liked them, and they were amazingly filling too. So I got the sauce idea from y’all, plus the adding water . Thanks for the idea! Trying to add photo but idk if it will let me on here ❤

I use a steamer basket to hard boil my eggs for pickled eggs and they come out perfect every time(easy to peel)...steam them for about 13 min and then an ice bath

Waiting to buy the cute ramekin and making the cocotte eggs and chaffles for brunch for visitors coming in September! I will serve it with my everything but the kitchen sink salad and slices of cooked ham or bacon (or both :))….

I’m definitely trying the first recipe! I don’t have ramekins, I will try it in my silicone muffin molds covered with some foil. Thanks for another fun video 🤗
