Yea, and opened up with the very first thing required...what size KB! I've already bought mine 35 pounds but didn't know at the time and just guessed...she just confirmed it, and I wish I would have seen her video first. Haha, nice work!

Thank you! I'm 66, retired and overweight. Bought a kettlebell 2 years ago, but never used it. I recently dusted it off and going through youtubes and yours are the best I've seen yet.

Here is your AMEN sister! Needs to be a woman to get rid of the machismo, give good advice and set reasonable expectations for beginners. It's admirable because once you get really good at something it's hard to remember how things were when you started.

Very nice total basic work out with kattlebells. You forgot to mention the Russian swings.

@@TheAlfarasjohn I didn’t forget to mention the swing; it’s a great exercise, but not for beginners in my opinion. It’s best to master the deadlift and squat first, and build up strength in your legs and back. I would not start any of my students with a swing right off the bat. @@kbfitbritt If I feel tension and soreness in my lower back, does that mean I’m doing the deadlift wrong? I’m short so this stance is kind of odd for me. I usually do sumo squats and sumo deadlifts for my height. I’m 5’2

@@marym6613 Not necessarily a bad thing, if it's just muscle soreness. That being said, you want to feel the deadlift mostly in your hamstrings and glutes. Try sitting back into your hips and bending the knees a bit more so you can utilize the legs more than the back.

Great kettlebell workout for beginners. Its important to start simple and prepare the body before doing the complex movements. Many beginners over estimate their capabilities and try and go for 10 minute timed snatches, jerks or long cycle directly and end up with sore and hurt backs, elbows, shoulders or wrists. Thanks for your upload.

I started swinging kettlebells about two years ago, with a Walmart kettlebell I bought for ten bucks off Craigslist. Haven't stopped since. Got more kettlebells, too! But I was doing some things wrong in my lifting and swinging, not just with kettlebells, but also with my lifting habits at work. My back wasn't hurt, but tired, stressed at the end of most days... which is what brought me to this video. I was looking for a way to fix up whatever I was doing wrong. This instruction got me feeling good in a snap. Plus, I'd never seen these exercises put together quite like this before. I've also bought several maces and started working with them. Never felt better!

Brittany thank you for this lovely tutorial video; it is simple, easy to understand and well organized. I have started kettlebell workout recently with 8 and 12 kg KBs at home. I am a 60-year-old fit man with a little sports background. Kettlebell is a wonderful tool for weight training and maintaining your muscles at older ages. One more thing, which is very important for non-native speakers of English; YOUR CRYSTAL CLEAR ENGLISH WITHOUT ACCENT!!!

Marvellous introduction to kettlebells good for people to learn how to properly use the kettlebell I’ve been using them for ten years .I have a total titanium spine with screws all the way down from base of my neck to my coccyx so bending is a no but squatting is fine for me so this is my preferred workout . The halo is excellent for strengthening muscles in your upper back which means I don’t use any painkillers.

I just bought a kettlebell yesterday. It is now 2021. You have a great beginners kettlebell exercise. I am 66 with a high metabolism and now that I have turned older it has slowed down. I hope that this will change all that. Thank you so much.

Great video! One thing I would warn about is hyper extension of the back. We all know the dangers of picking heavy things up while your back in flexion, but more often than not people that develop chronic low back pain have a distorted concept of neutral spine...in athletes or "gym rats" are almost 80% hyperlordotic (at least at the PT clinic I worked). When they watch videos like this they overcompensate after seeing the "Don't do flexion" part, and hyper extend. -Former Back pain sufferer and 3rd year PT student

I thought the same, actually I learned with a broomstick to keep the back 100% flat and that felt first like I would round it. but that was the key. before that I had problems with backpain and never could progress in the training. In the discription it says that the instructor is some kind of master in kettlebell liftig. I may not able to judge it, but I thought her back was too hyperextended.

As a PT, don’t you think we concentrate too much on “correct form”? Shouldn’t we do things more in accordance with our anatomy and natural instinct? I mean, apes don’t care about the correct form do they, but they seem to be pretty athletic…

@@viktoriakireeva5860 Apes don't goto the gym and do the same repetitive motion, increasing the load for "gains"....humans do. Humans will use wonky mechanics simply to "deadlift" a weight that's probably not appropriate for them, leading to poor compensation patterns. Constantly being extended leads to at least 50% of low back pain cases seen in clinic. Not all hyperextend humans have low back pain....but a plurality (if not a majority) of low back pain sufferers are hyperextended. Many of them are doing things like deadlifts (poorly) because some "trainer" with no real education in human physiology or exercise science showed them how to do so.... incorrectly. More and more evidence is showing that we should actually be more flexed(as apes are)....but technology, office work, certain sports and a poorly educated fitness industry has people in hip and spinal extension.
