Keurig Leaks Out Bottom Fix

Hot glue does not stand up against high heat, does it? High heat 2 part epoxy certainly does. One unbelievable trick, is wrap some cotton from cotton balls around the damage and drip some super glue on the cotton. The super glue has to be the very liquid, almost watery glue. The cotton turns so hard and nothing will touch it. I have used this trick so often and it bonds and seals everything and turns it almost into steel, that is how hard it becomes.

Great information, thank you. To get the top back screw out takes two steps. 1. open the water compartment and remove the screw holding the gasket, then remove the piece holding the gasket. 2 take out the three screws and remove the top. You can then access the hidden screw holding the case.

Finally opened mine up. The top screw came out while prying the back open a bit. Didn’t replace it. My B30 was not leaking at the filter. Seemed to be from overfill and not having the base catch tray. Found the tray, works great now. In the meantime bought a new travel Keurig. Does not make a good a cup as the B30. Will be keeping it around for a bit longer. Thanks!

First my K250's bottom needle broken (keurig said they could give me a 'significant discount on a new machine PLUS free shipping- then I saw that deal is offered to everyone on their website) I replaced that part for about $20. Then it would stop brewing and say 'brewing interrupted, increased water pressure'. I thought that was the store brand kcups I was using so I went to Marshall's and bought about 3 boxes of kcups. Then it started dripping from the back AND dribble from the front about 30 seconds post brewing. I looked at videos that said to add O-rings but it didn't do anything. Your video showed me its likely the same problem you showed. Now I'm just trying to nurse it along until I finish my kcups. Then its out to the trash and hello old school Mr. Coffee! I am DONE paying $20-$30 a lb for coffee to use this machine which only lasts a couple years. I have my grandmother's 1950's Westinghouse stand mixer and it STILL works. I'm sick of all this 'planned obsolescence'. Ok, I'm done ranting. Thank you for your time reading this and thank you for a very informative video.

Great fix! I have a K10 model so the disassembly is different. My only concern, and it probably doesn't matter I suppose, is is the hot glue food grade? I suppose if one wanted to they could seek out some food grade adhesive.

That's true. If you're concerned about it leaching, I think there's food grade silicone caulking that might work.

@@twotut2002 I tried to disassemble it but only got so far until I changed my mind after seeing a video of someone taking theirs apart. My leaking issue was apparently it needed to be cleaned and descaled because after doing that, no more leaks.

Nice video. My Keurig rivo is doing the same thing. Love that stupid machine. They don't even make it anymore. Question... Wouldn't the glue seep into the water you are drinking?

I don't think so since it's just melted plastic that shouldn't liquify at the temperature of the water. I could be wrong. Let me know if I am.

I was able to get the back screw out with a long skinny screw driver. I had to wedge the screw driver in and pry the top of the Keurig forward just enough to get a bite on the screw. Not sure I will be able to get it back in. How long did the glue gun repair work?

So how hot does that get? And what's the melting point of your hot glue?

Somewhere between 180 and 192 degree water. If you use low temp hot glue, it melts between 200 and 250. If you use high temp hot glue, it melts between 375 and 450. The check valve will not get as hot on the outside as the water inside it. So, kind of up to you. I would have went with a high temp glue if I had some, but I didn't.

Later but still issue. But now use crazy glue and baking soda. Makes a hard waterproof repair. Add glue drop excess of soda dust off add a bit more glue dries asap.

How do you get to the hose in a 2.0 model number 401.0200.0297383 Through watching your videos I'm certain the hose and or check valve is the issue as every bit of water runs out the bottom of the machine and never makes it to the cup

Maybe use clear Flex Seal on the entire filter. Wrap the fitting ends with masking tape first?

You might be able to remove the check valve and soak it in "C.L.R" ( calcium,lime,rust) then rinse with water. You can buy CLR at any store

I haven't used it since I repaired it because I like filtered coffee better. It would probably be better if you use a high temperature glue gun instead.

Do not use tap water use filtered water that's it leaks the calcium builds up and causes problems same goes for those hand held steamers for cleaning and the steam mops you have to use distilled water in those or they will not work right. I know I'm a fix it shop lady

The only thing I broke was the one screw point. The leak was from a check valve that I fixed. Did you watch the video?
