The fact CoD WWII was hated more than Vanguard is what hurts me. Sure it’s a CoD WWII but god Vanguard was a lot worse.
@2lazy4this90Күн бұрын
I wouldn't say that's a fact. WW2 has received its fair share of criticism, but that's mainly because of the aggressive microtransactions in multiplayer. I can't remember a bigger hate on the single-player campaign. Vanguard, on the other hand, was a total disaster in terms of story, and the multiplayer was also not too successful.

This game's campaign was super war movie in its pacing and story beats, but that is by NO means an insult or negative. Sure it feels campy and predictable, but that just means it nailed it. On top of getting in the severe grittiness and horrific aspects of the war as a whole, they went above and beyond showing how absolutely gruesome and brutal it was, especially during the very first level. Normandy as a first level? Yeah, it's been done, but what's a WW2 shooter without a boat landing sequence, you gotta! And the multiplayer was a unique take on the same old same old formula that made it stand out while not being excessively different, and the weapons just felt wonderful in basically every regard. It was the first game since Black Ops 2 that i actually went solely into Hardcore mode and haven't done again until Black Ops 6. AND THE WAR MODE, the fact we haven't gotten something like that since, not including the Ground War in the newer Modern Warfares, is absolutely criminal. It's like Titanfall 1 where the story is the multiplayer and you're just a part of the grander scheme of things, which is what the campaigns show. You're just a dude of a million fighting a war spanning the planet.
